Joon for Kids — Motivate your kids while teaching them important life skills

Joon is a mixed reality mobile game for teaching kids life skills. It's like Pokemon meets Club Penguin, but where kids only level up and unlock new things if they complete their parent-assigned tasks or practice positive habits in real life.

This is the solution to the bring back the Club Penguin movement. No in all seriousness as a kid I was going to play video games, so why didn't I play this? Love the product 🤙

We love Joon for chores/learning (me) and fun/playing (6yo). Asana meets Pokémon for busy parents who want to help their kids build good habits and get rewarded through play!

@haleybryant Thanks Haley! Love "Asana meets Pokemon" :)

👋 Hey PH, we’re Isaac, Brad, and Kevin and we’re super excited to launch Joon! Joon is an app for kids that’s like Pokemon meeting Club Penguin, but where you only level up and unlock new things if you do chores or practice positive habits in real life. 🛠️ Why we're building this Shortly after college, Brad, Kevin, and I had a conversation about our childhoods, and we realized we each played 10,000s of hours of video games when we were kids (mainly Runescape and Pokemon). While we didn’t regret the fun we had, when looking back we always wondered what would have happened if we had spent that time doing something more meaningful. We're building Joon because it's something we each wish we had as kids and it’s something that we think parents really need right now. 🦊 How Joon works Joon is a mobile game that’s like a combination of Pokemon, Club Penguin, and Tamagotchi. However, the twist is that in order to take care of your pet and make progress in the game, you have to do parent-assigned or self-assigned “Quests” in real-life. Examples are things like cleaning your room, doing your homework, meditating, talking to family members, reading, and much, much, more. It’s a world for kids where real-world activities and outcomes (mental health, relationship-building, cognitive development, physical health, etc) determine your outcomes in the game. The goal is to align the incentives of parents and kids through helping kids become more responsible and independent by leveraging a game that they love. 🧡 How you can help If you are a parent with a child between the ages of 8 and 12, and have an iOS device, we'd love to have you give Joon a shot and let us know what you think! You can download the app here (https://download.joonapp.io/Npm) and test it out for free. Additionally, if you would be open to speaking with us, we’d love to set up a time to chat and understand more about our potential core users. You can also reach out to us with any questions at founders@joonapp.io (or just post questions in the comments below)
