Hello Hunters! 👋
We're @etienn & @robi, and we're making Jitter. We are both passionate about motion graphics, and we basically want to make animation simple, fast, and more accessible.
We previously launched a simple text animator and the feedback has been amazing! 🙏 We learned that people want more customization, but in a simple and lightweight package (After Effects is still too cumbersome for many designers).
So here is our first take on a more advanced animation tool, with a couple of radical choices (no keyframes, built-in text animation support…). Please bear in mind this is a beta version, so everything might not work as expected yet, but we're really excited to see what you can create with Jitter already! :)
Looking forward to discussing in the comments: we'd love to hear your feedback and your thoughts on our tool!
@etienn@daryllman Thanks Daryll! It's still in early stage, and there are many things we need to improve, but we think it provides a lot of value already (especially in terms of speed and simplicity). Would love to hear your feedback!
@etienn@robi Is this like a web version of Principle? How is this unique from something like SVGator? And lastly, are you exporting objects as SVG from Figma (or other design tools) to bring into Jitter, or are you making them in Jitter first?
Thanks!
@etienn@megaroeny Hi Reony! Thanks for your message :) We take a different approach in.a few ways:
- you can use media and text (→ not limited to SVG)
- there are no keyframes, everything works with actions / instructions (→ this makes it easier to understand)
- you can use animation presets that are customizable (→ easy to prototype an animation in a few clicks, and then to refine it)
- you can export as GIF and video (→ no code for now, but we'd like to add Lottie soon)
Does it make sense? Would love to hear your thoughts on these :)
As for the Figma compatibility, we'll be working on a Figma import / plugin soon!
@ishwarjha Thanks Ishwar! Glad this can help, and please get back to us after your team plays a bit more with the tool, we'd love to learn how we can improve it for you :)
Jitter is the next go-to tool for visual creation.
As a priviledged early beta user I made an animation logo for my last product hunt launch, this would have never been possible without Jitter in such a short period of time.
I have been a huge follower of @robi's work and Jitter does not fail to deliver. It is a brilliantly easy animator and can suffice for anyone's desire to create their motion designs.
The predecessor to Jitter introduced me to the beta version of Jitter and though the subscription model is worth it for those who are more committed to continually creating animated graphics, it is a little bit much for me.
There is a free testing environment where you can create and explore Jitter's environment without subscribing, and thus allowing anyone to try it before subscribing!
Looking forward to seeing Jitter grow even more!
@hans_husurianto1 Thank you so much for your kind comment Hans, we've been really grateful to work with you along the way to build this tool, you provide really great feedback :) Thanks again for your support and talk soon for the new features!
Wow - just tried the tool and it makes motion design so simple. Seems like a very obvious idea (« why don’t we have this already? » ) so it will boil down to execution which seems flawless so far. What’s next on the roadmap?
@robin_choy Thanks Robin! Here are a couple of exciting things right ahead:
- Animated components that you can use in 1 click and customize (like a company logo, a “get it on the App Store” button or more advanced titles / subtitles effects)
- Cascading animations
- Simple 3D models (phones, computers…) so you can make a demo of your app / website in situ
- Real-time collaboration
- and much more…
But most importantly: how could we improve Jitter for you / your team, so that we can prioritize the right things? Thanks!
Sleek app.
Signed up. Gallery has all the things needed to get start. Pricing is quite humble. Super app. Used the power of web. Kudos.
PS: Adobe may be tracking your progress. Buckle Up.
@sanket_makhija Thanks Sanket! Yes the video / motion / animation community is pretty active these days, and this is great, can't wait to see where this leads us all :)
@aj_alkasmi Awesome! May I ask what you need animation for? Would love to know more about your specific use cases so we can make sure to improve the product in the right direction! 🙏
@robi Sure thing!
I'm actually preparing for a PH launch in a month or so for my startup, and was looking for a tool to help me 'animate' my logo so I could post a cool gif instead of a png of the logo. Couldn't find something I could use myself easily, so I figured I'd have to find someone from Fiverr. Now, I'm going to check out Jitter to see if I can do it that way! :)
@robi Thanks Sebastien! That's awesome. I was playing around with Jitter yesterday and love it. Was able to make a gif of my logo exactly the way I was hoping! However, I'm running into some problems with the export.
Do you have a support email I could reach out to / a way I can DM you directly?
@prerna_bagree Thanks Prerna! We have so many exciting things ahead :) Just to name a few: multi-artboard, animated components, cascading animations… as well as improving general usability. Would love to learn more about what you plan to use it for: can you tell us more about your use cases? Thanks a lot! 🙏
@bruceldn Thanks Adam! Glad this is useful to you :) We'd love to learn more about what you need to create, feel free to reach out to us to tell us more about your use cases – we'd love to improve the product for you.
It`s not a primitive micro low-functional versioan as you expect. It is very light, but has all the features of a larger software in slick design. Bravo!
Used it for Metasurvey PH image to look cool on launch!
Awesome tool and its FREE!
Amazing is what I think. Made a quick gif from a design file in like less than 5min. Quick way to express animated ideas. Good stuff.. Figma import would be amazing!!
Hey @nqobile_vundla!
Good news, we're starting to release a beta version of our Figma plugin: https://www.notion.so/jitter/Jit.... After you give it a try, we'd love to know what we should improve to facilitate the import, so you can reach out to us at figma.plugin@jitter.video anytime with your feedback :)
Thanks again and talk soon!
Amazing product! I have been looking into animation tool for a while. Do you think the product would ever move into the direction as a plugin for figma or sketch? Would love to see animation working in a final prototype!
Hi @lawly_popp!

This is amazing! As a content creator (YouTube), this is exactly what I have been looking for. It will allow me to re-purpose existing content for other channels very easily and make it feel native to those platforms.
Thank you! Keep it up :)
@sunebthorsen Awesome Sune! Please feel free to reach out to us anytime after you try the tool a bit more: we'd love to learn how we can improve it for you :)
Super easy to remix one of the examples and apply your own branding and style. Next step is to start a motion from scratch but the learning curve doesn't look too steep !
@adri1dupuy That's the idea Adrien, thanks for your comment! Yes the goal is to make motion design easier, faster & cheaper – still a lot of things to do to get there, but I hope we're on a good start :)
I've used the Jitter Beta for my product marketing, it's a total game changer! Within 5 minutes I get a slick and smooth animation customized to my company brand identity and copy, and from there tweaking everything to the last detail is super intuitive and fun. In terms of media creativity tools, motion design is one of the hardest UX challenges to tackle, and Jitter makes it truly accessible not just to all designers but even product marketers. Lottie exports (for landing pages) is top of my wish list. Highly recommended.
Congrats on the launch, this is a really solid MVP. I used it for creating an animated logo. Really like how simple it is to add up several animations in sequence. I first had a look at after effect but the learning curve is huge.. ?makers what pricing do you have in mind?
@arthur_bonnecarrere Thanks for your feedback Arthur! For now, the paid plan includes HD exports. The rest of the tool is entirely free, as we want to optimize for the creation :) Later, we would like to charge for professional needs: e.g. 4K exports, big media storage on our servers, and 3+ editors / collaborators. Do you have other models in mind?
