Jamm for Slack makes it super easy to launch instant video chats and send video updates out to teammates directly from your Slack channel. Add it here: https://jamm.app/slack
Our team @PressFriendly has been remote for 7 years and a Slack team the whole time. We've been using Jamm for 5 months and the Slack integration makes things so easy. It's allowed us to have quick discussions without digging around for a call-in #.
Absolutely love the 1-click calls with team mates and easy recording features. We have been using Jamm internally for quick catchups and end of day async updates. With the slack integration the workflows become even more seamless.
?makers Is this a hosted service like TokBox, Twilio or anything else? We have been on TokBox for past year and half. I would be interested to learn more about SDKs for JS (ReactJS), iOS, and Android, if available.
Product looks fab.
Great product guys! I just add it to our org's slack. One thing is that /jamm record does not work on private channels, which is a bummer and most likely one feature that would mostly be used.
@antonio_bologna we don’t upload slack videos to private channels but if you copy a link and paste it in a private channel the video will unfurl there. eg. If you paste this link into a private channel in Slack it should unfurl https://jamm.app/video/xqKcDyrQ9...
Hey Product Hunt👋!
We’re excited for you all to check out Jamm for Slack!
I don’t know about you, but we grew tired of long and boring video meetings. We believe real work happens between meetings, so we went out and built Jamm to bring a bit more fun and dynamic conversations into the workplace.

With our latest Slack integration, you can now instantly launch live video huddles and record and send video updates to teammates directly from your Slack channel using slash commands:
-🙌 Jump into a quick huddle to discuss an idea or brainstorm with your team instantly using /jamm chat
- 💁♂️ Record and send video updates and meeting highlights to your teammates with /jamm record
- 🕺 Creatively name video chat links and share with your channel
We invite you to check and let us know what you think!

Hi ?makers,
How does this compare to slack's built-in video calls? I can see recording is a plus, but I don't see the ability to draw on top of screens during calls (my team's favorite feature).
@amitav_khandelwal We have a couple of things that are massively different - the ability to have small, resizable floating heads that you can drag around anywhere, there are shared pointers that you can use to show or point to things on top of the scree and a super powerful collaborative whiteboard built into the call & web links to easily invite and collaborate with people outside your slack workspace.
At Jamm, we use `/jamm record` quite a bit for things like sending recorded video updates to our team and capturing brainstorm highlights. On occasion (probably more frequently than we should admit), we like to see who can get the biggest laugh from teammates by sending funny video recordings back and forth - boomerang style!
Here are some other ways we use `/jamm record` on the dailly:

Let us know if you have any questions or feedback! We’d love to hear from you.
@dansiepen Great to hear! Let us know how you go. Video is bringing back a much needed personal touch for our team communication while we're all remote.
I love using the Jamm recorder for product demos (what you see is what you get!) and sharing async status updates. Being a team distributed in several time zones, async communications is a key point in our day2day routines.
As simple as executing `/jamm record` in any of your Slack channels 🙌
Video recording into slack makes me save a lot of time when wanting to explain some new feature to the team. I can then take the time to write and delve into details but I can give the high level view fast and to the point.
Seriously always felt too may productivity apps force us into another app > hence another workflow and aint nobody got time for that. So excited to not have to leave the free version of slack for ad hoc f2f group videos anymore!! 🥃💃🏻
I really love the experience we have created that allows me to seamlessly jump on a call with the team. Using it everyday!
It's been fantastic to watch developers demo new features, or getting updates from the team via video. It has eliminated a lot of meetings and essentially allows us to consume them at our convenience. I'd definitely recommend giving the recordings a go in your team!
Love the fact that you guys integrate into Slack directly. We have been using other video solutions like zoom mostly and it was always a bit of a hassle to have to switch between tools. This looks like it’ll help save a ton of time and it’s great to see we can use it for ad hoc video huddles as well. Congrats to the makers! What other features are you planning to release for this in the future?
@ryanchaliff thanks much. Yeah we have a standalone application with rooms, etc but have found often times, we spend a bunch of time in slack and don't want to leave the workflow and be able to jump in and out quickly. Mobile + Computer vision (lighting correction, etc) is another area we are looking at.
