Hey Product Hunt, so excited to launch & open-source 15 new dev tools!
It's wild – the online utils devs use every day are cluttered with ads.
So, we made an ad-free, open source, light & simple alternative.
This all started at a team dinner –– thanks to the amazing idea by @preston_pham to build our own set of tools with a better dev experience than the tools we were all using every day.
They could be client-side + fast, ad-free + uncluttered, and we could open-source them too.
Since that dinner, any time we needed a util we’d just add it to our stack. So far we’re at 15 tools! (and we’ve already got our first community contribution, thanks @cassidoo for an awesome .env to netlify.toml converter!)
So excited to open source it and share with you today! 😃
Check it out at jam.dev/utilities or view the source at github.com/jamdotdev/jam-dev-utilities.
Which tool do you want to see added next?
@preston_pham@cassidoo@thedanigrant Seriously, from personal experience, most of the products I use have ads. The fact that this one doesn't have any is already a win! It takes real determination to resist the temptation of profit. I really admire the team for this decision.
Love the Jam team and everything they push.
Offering all of these utilities at no cost is a gift for the rest of us.
Thanks @thedanigrant and Jam team!
Great launch, @thedanigrant! Really appreciate the effort put into creating these lightweight utilities. It's refreshing to see an ad-free solution that prioritizes a smooth dev experience. I'm excited to try them out, especially the cmd+k search feature! Looking forward to seeing more tools added to the stack. Kudos to the whole team for making this happen and also to @preston_pham for the initial idea! 🙌
Congrats on the launch, @thedanigrant! 🎉 It's about time we had some lightweight, ad-free tools to make our dev lives easier. The cmd+k search feature sounds like a game-changer for quick access. Can't wait to try out all 15 utilities! Any chance you'll be adding a data visualization tool next? That would be awesome! Keep up the great work!
Love this and that it is open source 🥰
Also side not, this got me to discover Jam (good job here eheh 👀) and I almost miss my job in a company so I could receive beautiful bug reports like this and not having to answer the usual "screenshots plz" 😂
Thank you for focusing on the developer experience!!! I can see this being the go-to resource for devs 🙌🏻🥳 super slick and clean UI too 🚀 and congrats on already being a Series A start up 👏🏼🧡
Congrats @thedanigrant and team! Been using jam.dev for a year and more now (wow time flies). Love how they are always solving problems they recognized first internally and built great solutions for them.
I gotta say these tools look super clean. And it's great that you wrote docs for almost each tool there too. And it's open source and local device run only?! It's just a truly valuable collections of awesome tools.
I think one cool tool to include is URL redirect tracker. This could be super useful to check URLs to see if they are safe to open.
Great job on the launch, @thedanigrant! Love the focus on keeping it ad-free and client-side for privacy. The idea stemming from a dinner sounds epic! Can’t wait to see what tools get added next. Keep up the fantastic work! PH community is lucky to have you!
Hi team,
I like the website, but are you planning to monetize it in some time?
Because i can't find a way in which this can be monetized without ads..
Let me know if you have something in mind.
This is awesome, @thedanigrant! Ad-free tools are a game changer! Can't believe it started at a dinner—talk about productive brainstorming. What’s next on the roadmap? 🚀
Congrats on the launch, @thedanigrant! This is exactly what the dev community needs—ad-free utilities that prioritize privacy and efficiency. Love that you’re making it open-source; it really fosters collaboration and innovation. The cmd+k search feature sounds like a game changer for quick access, can't wait to try it out! It’s great to see a solution born from a team dinner. Excited to see how this evolves. What’s next on the roadmap? More tools or features in mind? Upvoting this for sure! 🚀
Congrats on the launch, @thedanigrant! The focus on privacy and simplicity really stands out. I wonder how you plan to prioritize new tools and what criteria the community can suggest features? Also, any plans for integrations with existing tools for better workflow?
The video just him me hard.
Ok, so we use everyday so much of these free tools, see ads, probably share a lot of data with them, this is a must to have. just thinking why it didnt exist before! Already using it! great tool.
