The new InVision—codename: V7—runs on an entirely new code base, is remarkably fast, and redefines collaboration across teams and stakeholders. It also comes with a whole new look.
Clark from InVision here. I’m excited to announce InVision V7, coming in 2018.
We’ve spent the last two years rebuilding InVision from the ground up. We tore it apart and started over—and we think you’ll be pleased with the results.
The new InVision is up to 8x faster, redefines collaboration, and has a whole new look. We can’t wait for you to get your hands on it.

@clarkvalberg Looks amazing - can't wait to give it a go. I get so many emails filled with different InVision links, Spaces will solve this. Congrats 🎉
@clarkvalberg super cool. I was hoping you and your team were secretly working on a super-revamp. Very excited to see and feel how it works and improves the daily flow.
@clarkvalberg I signed up for early access but haven't received anything yet - are you offering access to the Product Hunt community or is this just a teaser?
I'm loving the stuff InVision is putting out this year and next, but I do wish the examples they'd show would reflect more realistic websites and apps. This and Studio seem to cover a lot of the same interactions, use cases and design styles. The most important thing for me in a design tool is knowing it can cover any base, any design style and any interaction. A lot of the demos so far have been side-swiping, picture fading, highly designed nonsense. That's not really a great reflection on the apps and websites being built today.
@ryanamurphy I agree. The examples are overly designed to sell people in on the service (which i get) but then you are not 100% confident that you wont have pitfalls when it comes to realistic applications and flexibility for real use cases. Still a fantastic product. Maybe they need a "made with" showcase.
@ryanamurphy Totally agree. However, there will always be a realistic use case which will not be reflected by examples. No matter what example you choose.
A collection of very different showcases could solve that maybe.
I would be interested to know why a big rewrite and not incremental improvements throughout the last 2 years?
How do you measure success of InVision v7?
e.g. Will 8x faster increase user's engagement?
Although it's not really clear yet what the benefits are of v7 above the previous version (other than something is up to 8x faster). I do sense re-platforming will enable InVision to iterate faster and set them up to work better with big enterprises.
Pros:
8x faster...
Cons:
Unclear what the benefit of v7 is to me as a designer (yet)
I love Invision. Been in my workflow for a long time now and could never replace. Have been trying many rivals as it's currently buggy and slow as hell, but it's never made me drop it just because the rivals still aren't as good. I'm happy to see you've been ignoring the bugs to build from the ground up. Looking forward to this and getting some of my life back.
It looks incredible. Can't wait to try it out and also test InVision Studio.
Is there a way to speed up the early access process? I would love to try it out right now!
We are at the end of the year 2019, can we hope to see one day your new version of invision?
Because since 2017, your product is completely buggy and gives me a lot of frustration ... And one day I will convince my boss (I give you an overview of frustration level) to move on to something that actually works.
Super excited to see this. While everybody tries to develop the same thing a little bit better, you guys are driving the niche forward and always bring something new to the table. Best of luck with the new launch. Really great work.
Looks slick - very excited to try it out. @clarkvalberg has InVision every published about their product launch strategy? The glossy, loud feature video seems to be a company mainstay. Like a public co. hardware launch - Apple or Google. Seems smart, would love to learn more about the strategy/effectiveness if you all have anything published
So glad to see InVision coming with Spaces. I've been using InVision prototypes for product communication and feedback as well, keeping it central. This update would just make it even better.
@elias_ruiz_monserrat I'm pretty sure I read on Twitter that the Invision design team all moved to Studio a while back, but I don't work their so can't say for sure.
