This is what I was imagining about. Helpful for multiple international based people. I love it! though I imagine would be hard to onboard so many vendors from so many diff verticals!

@zurgun Thanks Zeynep - Great question.. We are building trust with migrant customers so quality is much more important for us than quantity...
We work with vendors who have high coverage across each supply side country. Also, we are automating the vendor on-boarding process for each vertical.

We are proud to launch InstaKin – a cross border marketplace designed for migrant communities. If a migrant in the US wants to hire a contractor for renovations back home, InstaKin will connect them with a trusted vendor to manage the task. Not only that, the migrant can pay the contractor directly based on milestones. No need to run around anymore.
Our Story:
@zain_khan12 and I are migrants from Pakistan. We have regularly sent funds back home to pay for tasks for ourselves and our family members. Whether it is for paying home bills or a home renovation, we have done it all– just like millions of other migrants in the US.
Being far from home, it is hard to have direct access to reliable vendors. Unknown vendors would push for advance payments and then disappear. Worse, funds sent back to a family friend would be misused. It is a frustrating experience.
We talked to migrant friends from India, Philippines, Uganda, Kenya, and more and we realized that lack of access and missue of funds back home are a common ‘migrant’ problem.
Our Solution:
We realized InstaKin can work when thousands of migrants contacted us on Whatsapp within the first few weeks of launching our startup. We decided to build a Product with features relevant to a migrant:
- Direct Access to vendors back home to eliminate dependencies
- Milestone based payments for protection against fraud
- Rate vendor performance to ensure accountability
InstaKin is a one-stop-shop solution for migrants for all tasks back home. We started off with helping Pakistani migrants and are on a mission to become the platform of choice for migrants globally. Let us know what you think!
Finally! Somebody is working on this. Love the idea @yasir_shirazi! Such a pain point when ordering gifts for family back home. Excited to see more vendors for gifts!
