💡Thanks so much @chrismessina for hunting!
It's so great to see our summaries live in the app.
We’ve spent hours speaking to our users and working out how we can harness AI's power in a sustainable fashion, without compromising our extremely high standards for trusted curation.
Feel free to ask me any questions!
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Ben, CEO and co-founder of informed. We're changing the way you consume news.
It’s a time of massive change in the news industry and our team is always thinking of new ways to give you the news you need, in whatever form you need, no matter how much time you have.
Today we’re delighted to launch our brand new article summaries. They distil the crucial points of the best articles from the world’s biggest publishers so that you can get the top lines on the go.
Our summaries are created with the help of AI, which is trained on our trusted content and then fact-checked and edited by our experienced in-house editorial team who select all of our articles.
If you haven’t heard of informed, our mission is to become the go-to app for news curation and consumption. We believe human curation is the key to diverse news, so our editors and experts read hundreds of articles every day, selecting and suggesting only the best.
We’d love you to try out our new summaries feature and let us know what you think, they are totally free to read!
If you’d like to read or listen to our articles in full, you can get a double-length free trial with the code FREEMONTH during our launch.

@benjaminmateev great product, and love to see it getting better as well. I use it daily, which is saying something as the last news app I used was Flipboard.
Huge congrats on the launch! 🚀 As important as it is to stay informed, we don't always have the time, so I'm excited to try out the summaries feature. How quickly can the summaries be published, given that they also get fact-checked by editors (which btw is a very good idea, since AI can definitely make mistakes)? Is it possible to summarize breaking news or other time-sensitive articles?
Do you have a page about your pricing? It does look cool.. but I guess it depends how much it costs.
I've also been hoping someone will put together a news reader that will take compare news stories in different languages to give the reader a more balanced view.
EG: How is the latest news about the US debt ceiling talked about in the USA vs Germany vs Japan
Hi @john_carmichael Thanks for your feedback!
This is our pricing:
Yearly
59,99 €
Monthly subscription
7,99 €
Great idea with the comparison of news stories in different languages. Noted :)
@martin_kaelble ok, I will check it out. I assume your business model is to distribute your subscription fees to the news companies based on what articles they read?
My other concern with an app like this, is... how can I be sure of integrity? We're all now familiar with the dodgy tactics used in Facebook to manipulate large numbers of people (Cambridge Analytica: Trump & Brexit)... how are you tackling this with Informed News? Are you looking to any "web3" avenues for example so your readers can have the option to trace back news sources ensuring no manipulation?
I really like this app underlying concept though! Very nice!
Lastly, are you also looking into any "free press" options or only the main stream news sources?
Congrats on the launch, Ben & your team!
As a long-time tech enthusiast, I'm impressed with your AI-driven approach to news curation.
How do you ensure a diverse range of perspectives in your summaries? Keep up the great work!
Interesting. One thing annoying about the premium articles is not knowing the quality before buying the subscription. People have gotten very good at baiting. Int hat sense the summaries could help a lot.
Have a great launch! :D
