IMGN - Image Engine — Generate artwork based on yourself

Featured

The IMGN app creates completely new photos and artwork based on existing photos of yourself. The app is powered by Stable Diffusion and Dreambooth. Step 1: upload photos of your face, step 2: wait, step 3: automatically generate completely new images and artwork!

Gijs and I were playing around with Dreambooth, a new Github project that allows you to add your own face to Stable Diffusion (the generative AI that took the world by storm). We got the idea to use AI to generate business profile photos for LinkedIn, so I posted it there. Things really took off from there, so we automated the process, added more creative styles and created an app interface. There is a bit of wait time in between uploading photos and receiving results, but first ones in line only have to wait 30 minutes :) The crux is to upload enough photos close up of your face and photos from the chest up (with varying outfits and backgrounds). The AI then takes care of the rest. If you pre-crop the photos to be square and of your face, that should work even better! As of right now, roughly 1 in 4 generated images is quite good and 3 in 4 are insulting caricatures. If you want to share the results with others: the only way right now is to screenshot it. Every time you click the button a brand new never seen before yet strangely familiar image is created. I really like the transitive nature of generating new media in this way. Let us know how you like it!
