Do you ever find the perfect picture, but it is just too small or grainy to use? Well with a little help from AI we can solve this without a hint of drama. Just drag an image into the upscaler and pick from 2x or 4x enlargement. Presto! ✨ You now have a larger, sharper image.
Best of all the upscaler is free to use, but of course we would appreciate a link back to our site if you can add it. We are continually building more creative AI utilities, let us know if you have any suggestions or feedback!
PS: if you are interested in integrating this into an app via API, get in touch. We would love to know your use cases.
@visualpharm Hi Ivan,
First of all, congratulations to the team for this awesome product launch.
I am documenting journey of makers, creators, entrepreneurs through out the world.
The goal is to do a short interview, capture it in video, and let it out to the world, so that others can get inspiration. And also to get an acknowledgement, for you, and for your hustle.

Really cool application. I tried it out, and I can easily say that it works well, but not too long ago, I found a better alternative. A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for an image enhancer, but all I could find was some rubbish applications. I tried to use them, but all of my pictures turned out blurry and of low quality. After some, I was randomly browsing through the internet, and I ran into a really interesting website https://depositphotos.com/upscal... that had a photo upscaler online. I decided to give it a shot, and I was shocked by how well it worked. If anyone is looking for a similar application, then I would love to recommend it since it is the best you can find.
For me as a content maker dealing with images all the time it's going to save the game with low-quality images. Thanks, guys, you do know all the pains of creative people!
Great concept, does this only work for certain types of images? Just tried to upscale an image that incuded some text and it didn't quite behave as I would have liked!
@andy_mantle exactly! It works great for
* Vectors. Upscaler removes the pixelation, preserving the sharpness.
* Good photos that are scaled down. Fun idea: buying the cheaper low res from stock photo websites, then upscaling them.
It works worse with text, with blurry photos, photos taken with a bad camera, printed and scanned photos, and high grain. It does what it does: improves the resolution, which is not the same as a great looking image. One of our next projects is making the bad images like this look like they're taken with an iPhone today. Long way here yet :)
@visualpharm this sounds great! I can really see a benefit for many people with this. Are you considering the Integration side currently or is it just the standalone and bulk upload features that you are aiming for? I can see there is an option for Bulk image upload to use the API but I think this tool could be really powerful one integrated on an app or on a website for end users!
@andy_mantle an update one year later:
1. Bulk processing - done
2. Integration - we've integrated it into our https://icons8.com/lunacy so far
3. Coming is a plugin for Figma
Suggestion for future utilities: easily remove background from an image. Sort of like remove.bg but better and more fluid. I want to be able to fluidly move foreground image on any background and resize using my phone. This doesn’t really exist yet.
@dayaz36 that's awesome and we'll try it exactly as you said. We've already have a background removal (which we use on scale for an easier task, removing backgrounds at our Generated Photos and we make a lot of scene composing at our Photo Creator, so this would be a natural next step.
Why do you want to make it with your phone? What's the use case?
@visualpharm Sorry for the late reply. I feel like this would be a very popular consumer facing feature that needs to exist on it's own outside of professional photo editing software. Having it on the phone would be the most user friendly and ubiquitous. And touch would be a natural medium for this application. Before Instagram, filters were only done in photo editing software's. Now it's standard on all social media platforms. I feel like this should also be standard editing tool outside of PS.
Thanks for everything you guys are doing. I can't wait for this! Please make another PH post when it's ready. I'm sure that will be a very popular one! Cheers
@johnbhiggins letsenhance: we work better with vectors and logos, they work better for most photos.
Photoshop and Topaz Labs — we didn't check it, but I'd like to see the comparisons!
@johnbhiggins I've played more and the best one I could get is for the explicit "Illustration" mode
PS Testing is awesome. I'd love to see the tests from the community. Also, I'd love to see the suggestions: where do you miss it? What are some actual use cases? We can optimize both the AI model and UX for your goals.
@mightyalex I tried and it still works fine. There should be something else — a specific browser, extension, configuration, or file. I'm willing to track it down and fix it!
Its more unique and attractive at the same time and can saves a lot of people's time when actually wanting to depicted the right picture for a right suitable character wherever you wish to within a short period of time
What about the privacy policy regarding the images we upload? I've seen a couple of image enhancers on here that some hunters won't use because of that. Just curious.
Love your icons by the way.
