Only 1–2 shows per day, and times may be inconvenient depending on your location.

They should show some sort of preview or have a tutorial / computer mode where you can play previous games.

The app itself is pretty nice and when it works, the experience is seamless.

Unfortunately, the games are frequently delayed and experience technical difficulties. Plus often you put the right answer but it doesn't register.

Also, the trivia questions are not very satisfying. Who cares what company

owns Waypoint? That's not an interesting piece of knowledge.

Also apparently the founder doesn't know how journalism works.

Pros:

Fun, fresh, simple, free, and who doesn't like trivia games (and winning money maybe but probably not)

Cons:

* Not clear what it is until you reach a live show

* Some tech difficulties

* If you win, amount will probably be ~$3 unless really lucky

@suzywillow and I were watching Wonder Woman until I received a push notification announcing tonight's show. The appointment mechanic is refreshing, bringing a sense of togetherness and thrill as thousands of people play together. Unfortunately I only made it four questions in. 😞 About a year ago @rus launched Hype which exhibited some of the same colorful, fun branding and live video focus. While creative, I found most of the content and creators uninteresting (a common problem with most live video streaming apps). It appears the team learned a bit from Hype and narrowed their focus on a specific format (trivia game show). That said, I'm curious to hear the backstory from @rus. 😊

Very impressive. The live video is what makes the experience. Any plans to white label the app to let companies run their own game shows with customers? Would be an amazing way to engage an audience.

This is the future. I think that companies like Snapchat have been going in the wrong direction with content: Going digital is good, but being interactive and competitive is much more important. I grew up watching a lot of game shows and wishing I could participate, so I look forward to giving this a try.

I am disappointed when I miss a show. That says everything right there. I look forward to the push notification.

This is going to be huge.

Pros:

Fun. Quick.

Cons:

Not enough games. Doesn't warn you early enough

Finally joined a game for $500....The app completely messed up...The card displaying the question was invisible. I only got to answer 1 question and then I lost. Needless to say, it was incredibly aggravating....Fix the bugs!

Would be great if there were more games each day and you could win different types of prizes. Like win an xbox, or Tesla, or $100,000.

Also, there are so many people commenting that it doesn't really make sense. Might be better to just show an explosion of multiple profile photos of the people that got a question right after the answer is given away.

When I played this game btw, I had about 4 other friends trying to help in order to win. Great word of mouth marketing established through that. Wonder if there is a way to gamify it with multiple friends within the app that way those "friends" wouldn't have to be in the same room as me, they could be helping me from their mobile app and incentivize them somehow.

The hosts are great so far! They are positive energy, say the right things, and engage the audience. I like when they mention twitter followers. I think you are on to something there from a marketing perspective but could def get more creative by shouting out influential players in the game and that have large followings or previously won games in the past. Lots you can do there.

Very impressed with the concept and execution. Well done.

Pros:

The competition with community and live stream and of course the cash prize

Cons:

Prize money is to small.

Tried this for the first time today and as soon as I joined my first live trivia show - there was an "aha" moment. This feels like the intersection of live TV and mobile. And it engages users in a way I've never seen before.

Feels very futuristic.

My prediction: HQ will have over 1 million DAU by the end of 2017. It was built to be an incredibly viral product.

Furthermore, I think HQ will spawn a series of copycat products that will do something quite similar in the coming year.

I see so many ways how this can change the future of how live shows can engage audiences.

Brilliant work, keep up the good work! I am so excited about this.

Pros:

-Incredibly engaging

-Love how novel of a concept this is...really haven't seen anything like this before

-Live

-Great UI

-Easy to use

Cons:

-None so far

Middle of the afternoon (east coast) isn't really a convenient time to try this out… Should have more times. EDIT: Got to sit in on one. Really cool app, great execution. Maybe they'll add more times throughout the day but now I see it's quite a bit of a production to put on. Unfortunately, the games are often delayed and the app frequently hits technical problems. Oh and apparently they do it twice a day. Invite code: "shim" Curious how they plan on making money though. I suppose they might incorporate ads, but more likely is the introduction of premium content, like pay to get extra lives, exclusive games (maybe with higher prizes) etc. Also given the financial incentive, and the amount of time between when the question is shown and the time limit (plus only 3 options)… it won't be long before people get really good at cheating at this game. Then again, some questions are harder to Google than others.

everything about this app is amazing — the concept, the implementation, the thrill of playing... i literally can't get enough of it

So. Much. Fun. Download. Now.

Pros:

Synchronous gameplay and only last for 10 minutes, real money on the line

Cons:

Needs more instances of gameplay spread out through the day - might not be optimal for those who can't make it at 12 PM PST

I’ve been playing this game every day since the first game and I CANNOT get enough of it. Its super fun for friends to play along with and the competition is only getting tougher. Scott is a great host but I love to see who the guest host is going to be, and see young personalities adapt to a live show where anything can happen. I have recommended it to all of my friends and would recommend that everyone on PH sign up with code ‘pinksad’

Not sure if this is the “future of TV” , but it’s an interesting and refreshing leap forward for live mobile experiences.

A TV game show in an app. Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, The Price is Right, Pyramid, etc. will live forever.

This is so fucking smart. One of the most fun parts of Hype was Emoji game and the interactive element and this takes it to the next level. Congrats on the launch guys 😄

Loved the intro video and excited to play! But to sign up when there are no live games was a little anticlimactic.... is there something fun I could be doing to get a taste of whats to come? ATM in not sure if its worth waking up at 6am Australian time.
Jeremy Zykorie
Played today, much fun. Was not one of the two winners, lol. It's nice that it really goes too fast to cheat by googling. I missed out because I took too long on an answer. There's no clock initially I don't think one the answer and then all of a sudden its like 3,2,1... it was a bit of a shock. Anyway, great stuff. Thumbs up.

What I love about the whole thing, is that this idea was actually floated back in the day on NBC, a whole live game show on NBC that tied in with an app. What this really is is an exploration of an idea that was quickly abandoned by NBC as soon as it started. (I'm pretty sure it was NBC) Things I'd like to see happen with this app, first I'd like to see Chromecast support, imagine throwing this up on the TV and having your friends all come around maybe even a room code type deal so we can all just play from the same screen. Second I'd love to see it on Android, lucky for me I have an iPad so I can still play but man I feel bad for all those Android only guys. And third I'd like to see more frequent shows, maybe different hosts at different times so we can frequently get more chances to play or even just a training mode so we can just play it in our spare time. And while we're at it use my referral code, EkanaStone, and help a brother out in these trying times of trivia 🙏🏿

Really fun. Can see this being super addictive.

Played my first game and was out on question 3, like a chump, but still enjoyed. The production quality is great, you feel like you're on a TV game show.

Pros:

Fun. The fact that it's live and has a real host is really engaging.

Cons:

Battery power? Used 15% of my battery in under 10 minutes.

More! - Live means there's only couple of games a day - want more!
