This is super cute. What are some of the worst fare violations the bear has detected? Most unexpected?

@sarahadowney Thanks! We actually just released a study on the median change, cancellation, and baggage fee. It's here if you're interested in checking it out: http://www.hopper.com/research/h... The big three domestic airlines just began releasing basic economy fares which have a lot of restrictions. You can't change or cancel your flight, choose your seat, you'll board last, and you can't use the overhead bins.

As the airlines are increasingly unbundling” their offerings, it can be really hard to figure out what kind of fees you'll have to pay. Now when you're booking a flight on Hopper, you'll see the Fair Bear in the Trip Summary. Fair Bear will give you an overview of all the important stuff in the fare rules. He'll even warn you and make suggestions if you select a basic fare with lots of restrictions. Fair Bear will you know about the policies and fees related to: -Flight cancellation -Flight change -Carry-on allowance -First Checked Bag Price -Second Checked Bag Price -Seat Selection The Fair Bear is available today on Hopper for Android and is being rolled out to Hopper for iOS this week.

@bri_schneider Now that you have this information, are there any plans to let us specify how many checked/carry-on bags we plan on having and factor that in when calculating prices?
Brianna Schneider
@ankushg That's a great idea! It's definitely something the team is looking into.
