Thanks @kjosephabraham! I previously worked in events where there was a need for a flexible open-source ticketing solution, and the options were lacking unfortunately. So I decided to create a solution.
@zzz_damo Great timing. I've been seeking alternatives! 🩷 Do you offer ticket sales in which your platform simply takes a cut of the our ticket sales or do we need to pay for a subscription? I've been very interested in finding options for the former. (Or even a platform that offers both options!) Btw, love the logo. Thank you!
Thanks @nikkielizdemere! For self-hosting, Hi.Events allows you to take a customizable commission from each ticket sold.
For the upcoming cloud offering, we haven't finalized the pricing model yet, but we're committed to ensuring it's fair and affordable.
@sentry_co I've worked on events in the past, and there was no modern open-source ticketing platform, so I decided to build one.
I'm hoping making it open-source gives smaller organizers an opportunity to sell tickets without having to pay crazy fees.
@dave_earley1 Competition is always nice! Hopefully someone will do what you're doing for ticketing for hotels and flight tickets as well. This area could use some disruption as well 😸
Hi Dave, the embeddable ticket widgets seem pretty versatile. Could you explain more about the customization options available for these widgets?
@memphys_sk Sure! Currently, we support changing everything from the button text to the background color and language. We provide HTML you can easily copy and paste into your HTML or React website. In the future, we'll have even more customization options related to layout, etc.
This appears to be a promising solution for event organizers looking to move away from expensive SaaS ticketing platforms, and the emphasis on affordability and flexibility via open-source technology is commendable. I am glad you have added the feature of a personalized process.

Thanks @falak_sher! We follow an industry best practices when it comes to privacy and security. Also, being open-source, users of Hi.Events are free check the code and see exactly how their data is being processed and stored.

We took great care to ensure attendee data is secure by following all security and privacy best practices. We'll also be introducing additional security features such as 2FA soon to make the admin area even more secure.

I think one way to promote is to build some event pages for upcoming events that you can share with the organizer (and tell them they can take it over for free).

Thanks @alex_dulub! Glad you think so 😊 It took me the lion's share of a year to develop. Development was mostly confined to the evenings and weekends, so progress was very slow at times.
This is exactly what event organizers need. The embeddable ticket widget, custom event pages and easy check-in tools are fantastic.

We provide real-time insights into total sales, total tax, total service fees, unique visitor count, and total homepage views. We do plan to integrate with other analytics platforms in the future to provide even more detailed insights. In the very near future, you'll be able to easily add custom tracking snippets to event pages.
As for the upcoming cloud-based version, it will offer all the features of the current open-source version but with added benefits like automatic updates, easier scalability, and enhanced support options. We're working hard to make it as robust and user-friendly as possible.

And yes! We do plan to integrate with other payment platforms in the future. We know Stripe isn't supported everywhere, so we're currently looking at payment options that would allow us to support more countries.
