Hi Product Hunt, I'm Benson, one of the co-founders of Hawkeye! 🚀 📲 What is Hawkeye? Hawkeye is an app that provides a robust user-driven reporting and alert system that works in 3 simple steps: first, users report predatory behavior with evidence, our team (supported by our advanced AI model) verifies the reports, and then data is used to create a public profile of the predator. Anyone can search up any user on Snapchat, Instagram, and Tinder to see their report history. 🔊 Why We Built This: Imagine this: you receive an Instagram DM with an AI deepfaked explicit image of you, your IP address, and a threat to share it throughout your circle. Well, this happened to my friends and me, yet Instagram dismissed it in minutes as it had "no guideline violations." This is the unfortunate reality for 1 in 5 teens on social media by the over 500,000 active child predators online every day. Because there was no app on the market to address this, we took it into our own hands! 🛠️ Key Features: - Search: see other user's "risk score". With Hawkeye Premium, you can see all their full reports (details, dates, and more) - Report: file reports (with evidence) of suspicious online behavior - Personal Dashboard: keep track of the reports against you - Appeal: see a false report? Send an appeal What are your thoughts? Share your feedback, questions, or suggestions below, or connect with us on our socials!

This is such a good idea. IMO, this should to the social media itself but it seems that they do not care so much (yeah, they have some parental controls program but I think that it is not enough).

This is a very meaningful product. Social media today is too chaotic, and their system can’t 100% identify harmful information. I know Hawkeye can create a public profile of the predator, can it also help report to the social media directly when there is enough data to prove the social account is harmful?
Benson Huang
@focusaur This is a great idea! We hope that in the future, we can work with these major social media platforms to revise their report system. Perhaps this will be an exit strategy one day ;)

Hawkeye is tackling an incredibly important issue with a smart, community-driven approach. Giving users the power to report and verify predatory behavior while maintaining transparency with appeals is a solid framework. Social platforms have been slow to act on these threats, so having an independent tool like this could make a real impact. Wishing you all the best in refining and scaling this! And sending lots of wins to the makers :) @benson_huang

@whatshivamdo Thank you so much! You bring up a great point-- we actually came up with Hawkeye in response to social platforms' slow action to threats like these. Thanks again for the encouragement :)

Great product! What role does the "AI" play in this product? Is it a proprietary system or another service?

Congrats on the launch! As someone who has personally experienced threats of predation and sextortion online on social media platforms (along with numerous friends), this really hits home. Thank you for finally addressing this issue. Hawkeye is a unicorn!

The idea of having certified social workers involved in reporting online interactions is such a comforting feature.

It's good to see an appeal process in place, but will there be any safeguards against misuse?
Benson Huang
@brigid_stewart Yes-- this was actually the challenge we think about the most s developers! Firstly, the reports require at least 30 words in description for a submission, making it more difficult for spammers to misuse the report system. Next, we have an evidence upload feature, which isn't required because apps like SnapChat make chat history hard to trace, but will give more weight to the report in the back-end review system if provided. Next, we make sure the evidence matches the description. If a user has more issues, they have the option to discuss it further personally with someone on our review team. Thank you for the question! Any suggestions?
