Hi! My name is Brett. Thanks for stopping by to checkout Happily! About 3 years ago, my wife I were struggling to connect, and felt like the busyness of our lives had us running in different directions, with very little time for our marriage. So we committed to having date night once each month. We started a company called Datebox, to invite other couples to join us in our once a month commitment. Datebox has been helping couples have creative, fun, and unique date nights by doing the planning for them, and sending them everything they need for their date each month. Over the past 3 years we’ve had more than 500,000 couples use Datebox. I’m excited to share that today, Datebox, becomes Happily. We’ve been working hard on re-branding, and relaunching the company, because we believe there is so much more to building a great relationship or marriage, than just date night. Our couples were asking for more, and we’re excited for the opportunity to be part of their journey in more ways than just date night. We’ll continue to provide great at-home date nights, but we’re also adding things like premium experiences, classes with industry leading experts, a new app to help you plan great dates in your city, and other resources and gifts designed to help you connect with the one you love most. There are brands (Tinder, Bumble etc.) helping people meet or fall in love, there are brands that help you get married (The Knot, Zola) but currently there no brands, that couples love, helping them build the love they’ve always dreamed of..until today! Happily is committed to helping you connect with the one you love most, because we believe relationships matter. Thanks for taking a look, and if you’re married or in a relationship, I hope you and your love will join us!

@brettkolomyjec This is a really cool update and makes a lot of sense. Out of curiosity, are there other features you're considering adding further down the line?
Brett Kolomyjec
@jakecrump great question Jake! Yes there are! Today is step 1 for us which is re-launching the brand, but there is lots more coming! Here are some of the things we're working on: Each person gives and receives love in different ways, so we want to get a sense of how each of our couples feel most loved. (Ex: Acts, Words, Quality Time, Gifts, Touch). Our goal is to provide curated recommendations for each couple , based on what it is that makes them feel loved. We believe that when a couple spends the time and money to invest in their relationship or marriage, they should be confident that it's going to make a positive impact for them. Some of the categories we are thinking about are: - At-home dates - Local date planning, discovery & booking - Flower & Gift Delivery - Travel & Experiences - Events - Daily reminders/notifications for thoughtful words, actions, and physical interactions - More Classes - Advice & Content Hope this helps! Really appreciate the question!

Great idea. Who's your biggest competitor? Tbh - I'm always on blogs & google for date ideas, and that's my big hesitation for signing up here.

@christopher_lee4 Thanks Chris! Really appreciate it. Good on you for searching for new and exciting ideas for your dates. Thats awesome, in our experience, most people don't go to those lengths to keep things fresh and creative. The activation energy and creativity it takes to plan, often times hinders couples from sharing new experiences and trying new things. For my wife and I, we experienced this and noticed ourselves at the same dinner & movie spot over and over again. As it pertains to dates, there are a few other subscription companies in the dating space we compete with. In the larger landscape of experiences our biggest competitors will be the likes of Groupon, Airbnb Experiences, Living Social, Yelp etc.

@brettkolomyjec Makes sense, i think the business model is really ingenius. Subscriptions are perfect for people who don't want to think about the service all the time! By the way seeing as you just launched I have a market research service where for $12 you can ask 100 people a question then follow-up based on how they answered and even interview them! https://scoops.io/ You could ask e.g. "Would you pay $7.99 a month for a service that gave you monthly content, deals, ideas, and more for your date nights?" Anyway If you want to give it a shot feel free to sign up and let me know which email you used over Intercom and I'll pass you $12 in free credits. Best of luck otherwise!
