It's weird to think that there will be kids downloading this that have never seen or held a disposable camera before 👶

So I've been using this app obsessively, as in: I don't really use the iPhone's camera app any more. At the core of it, the idea may seem silly: Take a bunch of photos (24 to be exact), have them pretend to be developed, then see them three days later masked by a bunch of fake light-leaks and film-grain. But in actuality, I find that having a limited amount of photos I can take in a "roll" makes me more selective about the moments I intend to capture, and waiting multiple days to see them means I don't spend time in my Photos app checking to make sure the framing is just right or any of the myriad nitpicks I would normally use as an excuse to go back and take the photos again. I just snap and move on. I understand that Gudak isn't for everyone, but it definitely is for ME, and that's cool.

Next feature: only allow the photos to become available when the phone detects you are geographically at a CVS or other film processing store ;)

I'm a big fan of Gudak. Taking a step back to emulate our more complicated days of analog has been excitingly refreshing.

Brilliant concept. Awesome app. Take 24 photos and wait three days for them to develop. Oh, the excitement :)

I really like the idea of this app. Limit the time to take a pic and move on with your life. Makes you just accept that you took a pic instead of retaking yo get that ‘perfect’ photo. #oldschool. I like it!

Nothing new here, I've seen apps doing this years ago. Even some taking it to the next level where you had to pay around $10 to develop the pictures and get them delivered before you can see them (WhiteAlbum, hunted here 2 years ago https://www.producthunt.com/post...)

So... does this thing print and send you the photos? Or just show you the "developed" photos in the app? Because I'm super down for getting mailed a "roll" of photos printed out and be surprised by them, but I think I want the physical photos!

I love the idea of forcing you to think about the limited amount of photos you have in your roll to take. It forces awareness and will be a hit with the prosumer photo crowd.

Hipstamatic did something very similar in the past!

Insane idea, but so well executed that it is worth a try.

It's funny, Hipstamatic did something like this with DSPO. Funny how these ideas come back around time and again.
