Super excited to introduce what we have been working on at Grupa.
Grupa was founded to enable startups to win big by working with elite remote product engineering teams across the world. When COVID struck in early 2020, the war for talents got more intense, squeezing the talented engineering pool out of the reach of startups and putting them in danger of failing, with no way to compete with Big Tech.
Big tech companies began offering high compensation, remote flexibility, and other perks – work conditions previously synonymous with startup culture – as leverage to compete. This has left more startups with little option but to compromise on the quality of hires resulting in a slow, time-consuming, and expensive process for founders to get their products to market and scale.
The years of oversubscribed hiring strategy have led to an underutilized pool of elite engineers at Google, Facebook/Meta, Salesforce, Amazon, Netflix, etc. who are bored and reassessing their priorities. They are seeking high-impact work and ways to get involved with innovative projects and startups aiming to build the next big thing.
Today, It's impossible for early-stage startups to hire these FAANG engineers, so we created a marketplace for them to hire on the side and work for equity
Grupa is inventing a new way for startups and experts to work together in a very efficient, reliable, and affordable way. Our mission is to enable anyone to build the next big thing.
How does it work?
-Grupa onboard FAANG expert product engineering teams (comprising: designers, engineers, product managers, data scientists, ML//AI engineers), vet and activate those who are looking to be hands-on, entrepreneurial, team players, and supportive to founders.
-Founders provide their preferences: industry domain, tech stack, expertise, compensation option, work allocation commitment preferences
-Startups are connected with experts in industries that do not conflict with their current work.
-Experts “Angel-invest” their skills, time, and expertise working to be compensated with a mix of equity and cash
How has this model worked so far?
-We built the new iteration of Grupa with a team from the Grupa platform. We are a customer of the product
-Today Grupa is used by some YC, Ondeck, Sequoia, and Softbank startups
-We have a waitlist of 50 Startups including founders from Andreesen Horowitz, YC, Techstars, Berkeley Skydeck, 500 Startups, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital

-An Integrated system to manage workflows: All in one place
-A system to intelligently accelerate work by increasing productivity using AI
-The WAZE for Product Development: help founders execute their product roadmap by recommending what resources, how fast, and how to optimize the execution process.

@chrismessina @samuelekpe why does it matter if the startup is under 2 years old? lots of startups burn through money and die quickly, but some are crafting excellent product fit and staying alive until they catch fire.
@chrismessina @sal_iozzia Hey Sal, Startups need to be under 2 years to qualify for the free engineering offer. Those requirements are for the Special beta rollout offer
It's going to change the cause of product development and the way startup owners live their lives.

@praveenthames Yes, that's correct; its the only model of work that is yet to be tapped with software. We see this as the co-creation economy: which is the next economy to be unlocked, institutionalized and streamline engagements to happen in a compliant way.
A website like quora but focused on sharing theories could be a good one if it's done neat and has good marketing since a lot of people are getting hooked on conspiracy theories due to covid 19. And learning, criticizing, adapting and mainly evolving theories has some good affect on someone's creativity. I'm not sure but I imagine based off who I am that people would tend to go back to the website due to that reason or something similar they may just have good things that come more often because they have become smarter and maybe the unconscious mind is able to connect it back to the app or website. I imagine it'd be a community thing with different levels of theorizing since not everyones gonna understand but if you theoretically say how to view and "evolve" the ideas people may be able to understand that and it may be inspiring to them since a lot of us consider ourselves dumb to be smart
