Great, seeing in action an idea you had years before. My idea, however, was essentially based on the concept of place and becoming social as a consequence. What do I mean? The protagonist was not the user but the place. The user benefited from the contribution of others in that particular place. Imagine how many posts could stay in the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles :) or a treasure hunt in schools. Museums commented by visitors. The place is the protagonist.
@fabiocabula Thanks for your feedback. Yes, my idea is to make it place-centric as well. Most of the social app out there are people-centric, so just try to be different. Else this app will become yet another Facebook or Twitter.
For example, I will not implement a "follow" person feature. Perhaps following a place...thinking out of the box...
Congratulations on the launch!
It seems to me that website doesn't work. And any plans for the iOS app?
In which countries does the app operate now?
Good luck today on PH!
@yaroslava
Thanks for the feedback. Previously the link is a dynamic link. I have changed it to static link now.
Yeah, iOS app is coming soon. Would like to get more feedback about the concept of the app first before we support more platforms.
It should be able to support most of the countries.
Hi, product hunters.๐
We are excited to launch GroundWorm๐, a location based social community app that keeps you updated with what's happening around you. Just like any other social app, users can create new post, write comments, like or dislike a post, share post etc. What's so special about GroundWorm is that every post created will be geotagged with location name and you will only see posts which are created by someone near your current location.
If you are a ground worm (i.e. a local that knows a place very well), you may share info or post photos about your neighborhood which will benefit the foreigners or travelers.
A business owner or event organizer can make announcement to the people nearby by creating new post.
Above are some of the use cases that we can think of. We need your help to make GroundWorm the tool you ever wanted! ๐ Please give the app a try and send your feedback via the comments below. We'll make sure to answer every feedback and deliver your feature requests as soon as possible.
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi, product hunters....
Just updated the app to a new version v 1.0.10.
- Allow showing home page without enabling location permission
- Allow users to report/flag in house posts
- Allow users to block abusive users so that his/her posts and comments will not be shown and his/her push notifications will not be received.
Now location permission is NOT compulsory anymore to access the app if you just want to read the content. Hopefully this can reduce some barriers especially for those who are concerning about the privacy. However the app still requires location permission if you want to create new post.
Cheers....
