Come up with the best movie idea. Players select cards to form a synopsis. Each round, one player is the "Studio Head," others pitch movies. Studio Head picks their favorite. Player with the most greenlights wins.

Greenlight is a game for people who will never make it in Hollywood. If you think you have what it takes to make it in Hollywood, then you can stop reading. …except you’re probably delusional. So keep reading. Here’s how the game works: The object of Greenlight is simple: come up with the best movie idea. Players develop their movie ideas by selecting cards that form a one-sentence synopsis. Each round, one player acts as “Studio Head,” and everyone else—the “Writers”—must pitch the Studio Head their movies. The Studio Head greenlights their favorite. Once everyone has had a turn as Studio Head, the player with the most greenlights wins. What’s in the box? Each set contains 495 cards—55 Character cards, 165 Setup and Goal cards, and 110 Studio Notes cards. Who are we? We are a group of six friends who love everything about Hollywood, especially its values. What possessed us to make Greenlight? We all know the movie business is ripe for parody. We wanted to create something that allows people to experience the absurdity firsthand, as a fun, easy-to-play party game. We hope you’ll support our Kickstarter to prove to the world, and to our parents, that the best way to make it in Hollywood is to quit writing and make a party game. How do you play? The player who most recently watched a movie in theaters begins as the STUDIO HEAD. The Studio Head draws 1 Character card and reads the Character card aloud. Everyone else — the WRITERS — then choose 1 Setup card and 1 Goal card from their hands to go along with the Character card and complete the movie logline. As the Writers craft their loglines, the Studio Head draws 3 Studio Notes cards. The Studio Head chooses their favorite and places that card face-down in front of them. When all Writers have locked in their loglines and are ready to pitch, the Studio Head reveals their chosen Studio Note and reads it aloud. Each Writer then has one minute to pitch their logline to the Studio Head and convince them that their movie idea deserves the greenlight. After every Writer has pitched their movie, the Studio Head chooses their favorite and greenlights it by handing the winning Writer that round’s Character card. The player seated to the left of the Studio Head is ordained the new Studio Head, and everyone draws to refill their hand. The game is over once everyone has played as Studio Head. The player with the most greenlights wins. Studio Notes mean the Studio Head always gets the last laugh. Greenlight is fun for the whole family—adults, children, and puppets.
