I'm working on a project and we're building a chatgpt use case for e-commerce and looking for ways to montise the chatbot, this is exactly what we needed. I'll dig deep and look around. Sounds interesting... congrats on the launch @jeevika_makani 🤠

How do you handle potential issues like refunds or chargebacks?

@kyrylosilin hey, we take a 10-20% clip on each transaction, and we handle customer queries, customer disputes and refunds on behalf of our builders (obviously we sometimes need to escalate, but we handle the day to day)
Congrats Jeevika and Sam! Interesting idea - I'm curious to see the top GPT apps the folks build with this.
This is an avenue that I never considered.. was doing GTPs for fun but now I can monetise them, super interesting.

I have been using your gpt tools for a while now and from the beginning they’ve been getting better and better.
I’m currently using the donations options for my users as I’m not ready to put up a paywall just yet.
Setting up the tools is very easy with the step by step instructions & videos.
I really like the latest chat topics feature as I am able to analyse how the users are interacting with my custom GPTs. This is super cool and
I would recommend builder tools for creators as the analytics are game changers for custom gpts.

Hey Tony, great question... the way we see it is that a thriving app ecosystem is a win-win for everyone. if builders know they have a clear path to monetisation, only then is there an incentive to create high quality apps that everyday users find useful (and often mitigate the risks and challenges of using basic ChatGPT... these apps are already finetuned for a very specific use case, connected to more accurate data sources through APIs etc). We also allow builders to enable free trials so end users can experience the quality of the GPT before they have to pay! And awesome, please check it out!
Exploring monetization for my GPT just got a whole lot easier with this. It’s a perfect addition to the AI space right now.
Interesting idea! I agree that a market where builders are compensated properly will yield better products out there because they have more incentives. Right now, the payment requires jumping a few hoops.
I'm curious if you have thought about the elephant in the room which is what if OpenAI builds a payment system natively?

@tonyhanded yeah great question! We actively want to see OpenAI get involved in the payments / monetisation game. The thing about the GPT Store is that either it won't really happen and we all get $0, or it really kicks off, and it has the potential to get massive, and in which case, there will be space for native and third party payments / analytics solutions to support the ecosystem (and that's obviously the bet we're taking, as we see value in having a first moved advantage... we're already learning so much about end users and builders which is much harder to replicate than just product)
