How do you ensure the quality of the native speakers in the meetings? Do they undergo some sort of screening process?

To ensure the quality of the native speakers, we're interviewing them manually to make sure that they fit the best.
@vera_mur the main idea of meetings with native speakers is to give our users possibility to hear native speakers' accent and to realise that native speaker understand users' speech.
Also it's a cultural exchange where users can find new information about living in Australia, The USA, England, New Zealand etc.

The main difference between Govar and competitors β you can start speaking in 1 minute in the evening. And speak as long as you want because you talk to different people who change each other.

@dzianis_yatsenka Can't name a particular languages. I think that should be most popular languages that people learn as a foreign language. Maybe Spanish and Portuguese.

Congratulations on the launch ?makers Love the fact that while users would improve their English, Govar would also end up facilitating a cultural exchange. What does 'Govar' mean btw? Any story behind the name?

In the beginning we wanted to make name "iSpeak".
But very soon we found that there are too much iSpeaks in the world. That's why we decided to take Belarussian word govar that means "dialect". Then we asked some native speakers to pronounce it and asked their opinion and all of them said that it's a good name. To be honest we had 10 variants but Govar won.

We started the project with a pilot name iSpeak, but it was too common - there are many "iSpeaks" even in Belarus. Our users would probably find other apps and services with this name. Therefore, we first made a list of names consisting of variations of the words "talk" and "speak".
Then came the idea of taking a Belarusian word and transliterating it into English. This gave us 10 names. We conducted a vote among the team and the first 350 users. The winner was Govar. The word "Govar" in Belarusian means something like "conversation".
We checked to make sure this name was not taken, and to avoid mispronunciation among foreigners, we asked several English-speaking people to read the name.

Long story short: we've tried different names, one of the previous - iSpeak. Decided to choose `Govar` as the means `Speech` in the transliterated version of one of the native languages of the founders.

Being a Designer I have few questions.
What features can I get in Free Version?
How native speakers get registered?
What type of topics we get in app? Are they general or academic?
Do we have a captions auto generated while in meetings?

We have meetings with non-native speakers every day. These meetings are available in Free Version.
Native speakers can join everyday meetings and know how people live in other countries. Also they can join meetings with native speakers as speakers.
We don't get topics for today, users are free to speak whatever they want. If they don't have a topic they can push button "get a topic" and we will give general questions
Omg, this is such a great idea!! People usually learn english the best when speaking with others. But shyness and lack of confidence often stops them from even practicing it. It's so amazing to see an app that lets you connect with people on the same levelπ

I saw today your pitch in Imaguru club and I really loved the idea, as it's very important to practice foreign language constantly otherwise you are risky to forget it.
I've noticed in demo video that user choose the level of English, do you have a plan to implement feature with estimation user's level?

We're working on it - the idea is to analyze users' speech during conversations to predict approximate English level

First of all we are planning to implement AI-feedback to make users' speech more literate.

No, we don't have teachers on a regular basis, but you can meet natives and practice with them!
@new_user_127483b6b4 I practiced English for public speaking. Sometimes I have to pitch Govar on different competitions in English.
Practice in Govar 2-3 times a week helped me a lot. Now I can pitch even with no preparations.
And also sometimes we make meetings with native speakers and we are planning to invite teachers with narrow topics in future.
