@syswarren hi Julie! Thanks so much, I'm so so happy you like it! ☺
I was really just making a tool for myself, and it feels amazing that other people find it useful as well.
Hope the app saves you time and maybe even help you discover a new symbol or two!
Pretty aesthetic! I have been using Simbol (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/si...) which is free but haven't been updated in a while. Your app seems to be a good alternative but, I think pricing is a bit steep for an utility tool which someone will use once in a while. Anyway, Good luck!
@8aev this is solid! God knows how many times I had to google a specific glyf. Thank you for your service. I'll mention it in my live stream later today.
@joseph_peterson1 thanks Joseph!
In terms of marketing, PH is one of the very few things I've done so far really. Open for tips and suggestions from you and from others!
Hi all! 👋
I come to app development from product design, and the initial idea behind the app was to make it easier to copy and paste Unicode symbols like arrows, dashes and bullets.
Of course you can always google them or use online tools like glyphy.io, but to me that was not ideal. I really wanted to create a tool that worked offline, provided a wide, but not overwhelming choice of characters, and was cross-platform.
While working on ✶ glyfs, I learned about the concept of microtypography, which is all about improving the readability and appearance of typed text. This was when I decided to add a few simple text tools to the app to make it even more useful for myself and for others.
Please give ✶ glyfs a go and let me know your thoughts!
What feature should I build next?
