@rrhoover that was part of my initial inspiration π There's a Twitter thread that was posted around the time I was kicking the idea around for Glue that referenced Tumblr that I used for validation: https://twitter.com/Shpigford/st...
thanks for the comment Ryan π
Hello everyone!
I started building Glue about a year ago to have a single space to share things from text-blurbs, photos, audio and longer blog posts.
You can see my profile here: https://glue.im/noah
Basically, Imagine if Twitter, Medium and Reddit had a baby π
One differentiator from other social networking platforms are custom domains which are currently in beta. An example of this is Glue powering Pingly's blog at https://blog.pingly.com
This way you can brand your social media profile under your own domain and/or use Glue as your blog.
Any questions or feedback are greatly appreciated π
P.S. You can read more about Glue at https://glue.im/glue/introductio...
@jessienewell yeah π! That was one of the goals and is what I've done with Pingly's blog at https://blog.pingly.com which is now hosted on Glue with the custom domain feature.
I've got a feature in the works that would let you "choose" what type of posts (Drops) you want displayed on your custom domain, either everything or just blog posts or potentially just photos. Still flushing that out.
(I apologize for the late response, I somehow didn't see this comment notification)
Super clean UI - exceptional UX! That's how it's done. Besides that 99% of all new social networks fail, I really hope that Glue will be under the 1%. It will all depend on your business model and how you handle to most important part: privacy and making money beyond a classic ads/tracking business. Good luck!
