Hello, Product Hunters! 👋 Today we’re launching Glide Pro, a premium version of Glide for users who need more power. We’re also announcing many new features for the free version of Glide, including our spreadsheet-like Data Editor. 🤔 What's Glide? • Glide helps you build beautiful, useful mobile apps from Google Sheets, without code • You can share Glide apps instantly with a link • Updating your sheet updates the app and vice versa 💪 What makes Glide Pro "pro"? • Use your own brand and domain • Power your app with up to 25k rows of spreadsheet data • Allow users to upload 10GB of images & files • Make in-app payments with lower fees • Limit app access based on user email or domain • Make apps from sheets in GSuite Shared Drives • Display up to 1,000 address pins per map • Support for time-based & IMPORT formulas with Background Refresh ⚡ We're supercharging free apps too • Our Data Editor adds code-free logic and formulas to your app • Buy Button, File Picker, and Geolocation are now available in free apps We hope you love it and can't wait for your feedback! Thank you, David & The Gliders PS: Read our launch blog for more.

@dvdsgl Looks awesome, but what about us early users with free apps that have more than 500 rows?
Francoo
@dvdsgl • Make in-app payments with lower fees is it stripe ? how does this work ?
Fajar Siddiq
@dvdsgl Congratulations on the launch for Pro! Can i create multiple projects for $19monthly? or is it just per app and just more space? thanks.
David Siegel
@boetter all early apps that already had many rows remained unlimited.
Sean Hama
@dvdsgl This is super slick guys.....we're going to use this in a couple of months when we starting building our app.

Glide is one of the most impressive tools for quickly building apps of all kinds that I've used so far. Very impressed, super powerful, well thought through. Even more impressive: I showed Glide to a few people who have never built mobile apps before and they are now building one after the other. Super excited about Glide Pro. kudos @dvdsgl et al
David Siegel
@__tosh Thank you for getting your friends hooked on Glide :D

I just checked out Glide and I'm completely blown away - nocode is getting super next level! I love your video for Glide pro, it's super sexy and well executed. I also really like the overall design and feel of your landing page (and that classy English accent!). Your pro features look like a total no-brainer for a serious Glide user. It took a bit of clicking around to realize that Glide creates a progressive web app (PWA), not a native app. I'm a huge fan of PWAs (because I don't want to have to learn to build native apps) but I suspect some users think of an app as something they can install from the app store. Do you have any plans to enable users to create native style apps that can be installed via the app store or PWA only? I guess my main concern is around the install process of PWAs. I like your modal that explains to click the share arrow then "add to home screen" but I wish there was more of a native "install" prompt for PWAs... Congratulations on your launch! :)
David Siegel
@alxcnwy Thank you so much! That was our original assumption too, but we're finding way more traction with PWA that we ever expected. We will support all kinds of apps eventually, but right now avoiding the app stores has been a huge accelerator for us as we build the first generation of the product.
Nick Simard
So, limiting access by email address or domain used to be available for free. Is this feature now only available on the Pro plan? Sounds like it.
David Siegel
@nicksimard That's right.
Merrill Reisemberg
Looks cool but when I'm trying to sign in I have this message popping up "Oh sheet! You're not signed in." Can you look into it? Thank you!
David Siegel
@merrillhefdy Interesting. Have you created an account already?
Joel Runyon
When you say "custom domain" - does this mean it will live there for desktop too? Or is it just referencing internally in the app? If the data in the app/site is accessible directly via myurl.com - I'll sign up today.
David Siegel
@joelrunyon that's right!
Tero Rinne
Looks neat! Any chance of AirTable support down the line? We could obviously tape something together with Zapier, but a direct connection would be preferable.

Your team is super awesome and some of the most brilliant work I've seen! Thanks for saving me countless hours with quicktype.io :) Upvoted!
David Siegel
@rayliverified Haha quicktype shoutout! Wooo!
Greg Wehmeyer
I want to build a simple app that non-techy store managers can use to update each employee when the new work schedule comes out each week. Manager would fill out one spreadsheet for all employees, then each employee would only be able to see their time. Doable?
David Siegel
@gregw yep! This is easy in Glide with our “per-user data” feature—you can learn all about it in our docs.
Hannah Milan
Congrats guys! been using glide for months now and I believe that this is one of the under rated design tools out there!
Brady Endres
I can't even sign in to try it. It brings me to the main app home, then I click new app, and it asks me to authenticate again, then it hangs...
David Siegel
@brady_endres1 Sorry, we are looking into that. Please use Chrome (we see this issue often in Brave)
J
Are maps able to show a user's location and relative data (restaurants for their location for example) around them?
J
Use case would be an app that displays listings in different cities - only local listings would be relevant to the user

Congratulations @dvdsgl @markprobst @antonio_garcia_aprea. Glide is changing the world - time to go pro! 👊👊👊

Chris Honore
What happen to my app after I stop paying the subscription , do i lose access to all or I could export ?
David Siegel
@chris_honore you keep access to your app, and you always have full access to your data. Glide apps are not exportable at this time.
Victor Balta
Love the tool and definitely I could make use of it. It's great for prototyping, but it seems too expensive to publish at this point for me.
David Siegel
@victor_balta1 thanks! We hope you find a project worth going Pro for 😉

This is great! Way to go, Glide! Will people who use a template I've created be charged to use it? You are making so many improvements! My middle school students are LOVING Glide!
Cori Godfrey
Glide is a beautiful, insanely easy-to-use product that literally everybody can work with. I turned an ugly spreadsheet of my dog’s favorite things and recommendations (totally normal to have one of those) into a stunning app that’s easy to share on his instagram account, and it took me about an hour to finish the entire thing. Highly recommended!!
Sekhar Chandra
Super promising! Will give it a try soon. Are these web-apps or native?
David Siegel
@sekhar_chandra For now they are PWA.
Andre Ferraz-Nelson
Just purchased the PRO subscription to help with development and updates. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Great job @dvdsgl and team. :) Excited to play around with my sheets. Thank you
David Siegel
@theuiguy Thanks a lot! We look forward to contributing to your app's success.
