The first visual tracking documentation tool that enables everyone in your team to create, access and understand analytics events in seconds. No technical skills or endless spreadsheets required.
Just over a year since we officially founded and after great feedback from a handful of super early adopters, we are very excited to launch on Product Hunt 🚀
😶🌫️ The Problem
Many organisations struggle to enable their teams to leverage their data due to low accessibility, bad usability and outdated documentation of analytics events.
🍩 Our Solution
Introducing the first visual tracking documentation tool that makes collaboration and access to data so intuitive that you don’t need to learn how to use it. With Glazed, anyone can create, find, understand, and monitor analytics events in seconds, directly from your product's UI.
🌟 Why We Built It
A few years ago we realised that visual documentation is the best form of documentation; everyone is familiar with UI’s, but event names are often not self-explanatory and data tools can be too technical for many. This is what we learned back then:
☞ Adding screenshots to tracking docs reduced implementation bugs by 90% while increasing overall implementation times, accessibility and self-service on data-related queries.
☞ Including screenshots in dashboards and ad-hoc requests to give context significantly increased engagement and discussion, particularly from less technical folks.
Since then, we’re on a mission to create the world’s most intuitive data tool, enabling everyone within an organisation to access, understand, and leverage their data in seconds to make informed decisions.
🏄♂️ Sounds interesting?
We're opening up our private beta to more early adopters excited about shaping our roadmap before our public launch. We have a lot of cool ideas but we want to focus on what’s useful for you.
Excited to hear your feedback and feel free to ping us on Slack, or sing up to our Closed Beta 😇
Thanks for the nice words @oxana_ivanova, using screenshots already helped a lot at our previous jobs, but with this, we are trying to bring it to the next level :)
Thanks @sasha_buratynskyi! We connect to specific tables from our client's DWH or use the API's from Amplitude, Mixpanel and Segment to pull the data. But for security reasons, we only cache the data and never store anything on our side. We do store the tracking schema (event names and properties) so we can keep the relation to the design elements, but not the actual data. Not sure if this is what you were referring to, otherwise feel free to continue the discussion :)
I don’t have a really sophisticated event tracking system set up in any projects, so I can’t say I’ve felt the pain points here. BUT I’d be super excited to try this from the jump because it looks like a great workflow.
Thanks @gzampino, we're currently integrate with Segment via your cloud solution (Redshift, BigQuery or Snowflake). But we actually had a call yesterday with the Segment team to discuss a direct partnership - very excited about that! 🤩
Feel free to ping me if you'd like to hear more!
Great job Asis! I can't believe the amount of time and energy we can save now through your solution. Glazed came to change the game my friend. Congrats!
Thanks Germán! Setting up, documenting and maintaining tracking can be a pain and we want to take that pain away - nobody should suffer like we did in the past :)
Super cool app! I think this is going to help tons of teams build faster and more accurately. Not to mention how much easier QA will be given everything is visual!
Well done & congrats on the launch!
@soyasis That's great man... it was always a challenge to include all of the design screenshots and hard to bug track in Jira without anything interactive like this. It's definitely going to help tons of people!
Marketer here, I've given event tracking requirements in Excel sheets, Google Sheets, Notion templates, Loom videos, explained to devs in standup calls, and then have reviewed them gazillions of times in Mixpanel or Google Analytics.
It is always painful 😣 to maintain them with newer UI updates.
This looks awesome! The assets you guys have designed for this product launch tells the entire story without even having to read the description. Great job 👏👏👏
Congratulations on the launch 🎉
Thanks for the feedback @kevin_t_, much appreciated!
We are not native speakers, so there is definitely space to improve our grammar, will take note of the suggestion 🤗
Regarding the images, are you referring to the ones in PH or our landing page? And are you on a mobile device? Thanks! 🙏
@soyasis I clicked on an image after I made the post, saw it went to a magnified view, and changed my initial comment.
If you have any grammar/English questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Congratulations on the launch! This is a much more streamlined way to build (and maintain!) tracking compared to the old way of lots, and lots, and lots of spreadsheets.
