A former coworker of mine uses this regularly. I believe their inbox scraping approach could be applied to other products or use cases. This has me brainstorming ideas... :)
@rrhoover Lot's of cool things you could do with scraping Gmail. This was one I tweeted at Slice a while back: https://twitter.com/bracco/statu... - Basically Amazon allows you to get refund of difference if price drops within 7 days of a purchase. Slice could potentially notify you of that (as Amazon obviously doesn't :) cc @GeoffreyWeg
One of the apps that I use more than most. I love that I don't have to keep track of the various shipments I have coming to me (I may have a slight problem with online shopping/ordering...) Fantastic app, super user-friendly, bravo all around.
It syncs with your inbox to pull in all the stuff you order; from Amazon etc. then it constantly tracks the shipper's (i.e. UPS, USPS etc) API against the tracking number, to get an order status and estimated delivery date.
e.g. I can see which day all the different stuff I order from different ecommerce websites is gonna arrive.
The web version is not good. I use the iPhone app. It's super buggy, but the best solution that I've found.
@bracco - genius! My buddy @koesbong built Salemarked that tracks prices on various websites and notifies you when the item reaches a certain price. This would be a nice addition/augment to the product.
