The GetPassbook app is the simplest, fastest way to put any boarding pass into Apple Wallet or GPay. Just upload a PDF or scan your paper boarding passes, and the app generates a digital mobile pass file you can add to Wallet and GPay.
As a tech lead I have to say we are so excited to launch this as we were able to play with newest tech to be able to deliver it fast for both mobile platforms.
We have used ReactNative for mobile apps, and NextJS to deliver crazy smooth new website and we are already building offline-first version based on Realm Cloud, which will store all your passbooks.
The goal of AHOY was always to ease the pain of travel (especially flying), and I could not be happier that we have something that benefits everyone, and not only our customers.
Please feel free to ask any questions whatsoever, I will be happy to answer!
Good morning ProductHunters
So, nearly 2 years ago I came to the office on Monday morning only to discover that @hernas had built a PDF to passbook converter tool over the weekend. Our business travel customers at AHOY had been constantly asking for it, and so he just went ahead and built it :)
It was released first internally, then as a web version. And now... after a LOT of feedback and fixes, we’re crazy excited to announce the launch of our free GetPassbook iOS and Android apps.
With nearly 30,000 passbooks successfully converted, by travellers in over 130 countries, the whole team at AHOY finally decided we’d like to take this weekend hack and make it something bigger.
People liked the ease of use from desktop, but many had asked for a better mobile experience when on the go.
So here it is!
With the things that travellers say they love about the web version
- Destination weather updates
- Also generates passes of people you’re travelling with
Plus new for this version
- Flight alerts for delays and gate changes
- Passes are generated in-app w one tap to add to Wallet or GPay
Looking forward to hear what you think! Please throw random comments at us, send your feedback, ideas, or suggestions, especially if you're a traveler.
I love the getpassbook.com website and use it frequently when I don't want to deal with paper or email tickets. There are still a ton of airlines that don't offer Apple Wallet passes by default.
Now with the mobile app, I have even less hassle :)
