It is generally a good idea to announce your launch date when you have a solid plan and are confident that you will be able to meet the deadline. This can help build anticipation and excitement for your launch, and it can also help you attract media coverage and potential customers.
I think once you have constructed a viable, thorough and realistic plan that you are sure you can complete in time, it should be okay.
I believe 15-20 days prior your launch is ideal. This way you can make people sign up on your landing page, people won't forget that they have signed up as there will be a bit of excitment because in a way you are counting down days and its evident to them. anything more than a month would kill the buzz. Nobody wants to wait so long. People might even forget that they have the need of your product or might start looking for something similar.
