My dream job was to be an ice cream seller.
Haven't we all thought of that when we were kids?
My strategy was to sell the ice cream at sightly cheaper prices so people would see that mine cost less than someone else's ice cream and buy it.
I also realized, “then I make less money for every ice cream I sell.”
But compared to selling very expensive ice cream and getting maybe three customers, or cheaper ice cream with lots of customers, I figured I would be set.
Then I got distracted by my brother falling down the slide.
What did you end up doing?
Not selling ice cream, for sure.
I wanted to become an architect, I even pursued my studies in architecture, but life took me abroad where I wasn't able to realise my dream. I am still very much passionate about architecture and spatial design, but I realised that the reasons why I was drawn to this field was that I am driven by transforming the world around me, solving problems and improving people's lives.
I later got into digital marketing, as it allowed me to work location independently and combine my skills and interests in creativity, writing, analytical thinking etc. However, I feel this is not my mission as I don't feel much contribution and `attention hassle´can feel too shallow and draining.
What I actually want to do is create content that helps people heal and overcome their (inner) obstacles. I want to combine personal development and spirituality to inspire and empower people to live authentic lives, grounded in self love and connection to all.
This dream job wasn’t when I was a KID, rather a teenager, but I wanted to build transporters based on Riven: The Sequel To MYST. That game has roller coaster/tram-like transporters that you use to get from area to area, & they’re like the most memorable thing from that whole game. And that was my teenage ambition—to make them a reality. Sadly, I struggle with math & science, wouldn’t those be required to build those? After experiencing life, my new dream job is to either be a game designer (I at least can do something as creative as the designers of Riven (& its predecessor, MYST)), or I want to be a musician FOR video games (&/or movies).
