Continuously improve your content by maintaining an index of all your articles, monitoring their search engine rankings, and consistently updating those that underperform to gradually enhance their position in search results.
Reposting my answer from another thread:
There's only one strategy: read the manual. Google tells you what they like. Do that. The following are just a few things, but they are very important:
- They don't like slow pages, so don't weigh them down unnecessarily. Use pagespeedinsights on all your targeted pages.
- In general Google doesn't like bad UX. Give your users a good experience. If they just bounce back to search it will hurt you. Keep an eye on your bounce rate.
- Fulfil your users search intent. They want a "Blue cars made in 2010". Give them blue cars made in 2010. Don't treat your users like a bunch of people that need to be shoved down a funnel. Treat your users like the most efficient, lazy and clever people in the world. They know what they want, so give them what they want, as fast as possible.
- Build sustainable traffic. There are no hacks and tricks. I mean, there are, but if they don't lead to sustainable traffic that actually contributes to your business goals, there's no point in paying any attention to them. Creating sustainable traffic takes time, be patient.
- Don't forget about robots.txt and sitemap.xml.
- If you do link building for the sake of link building, the quality of your backlinks will deteriorate quickly. At first, they will not make sense. Then they will become spammy, and then just plain spam. This will happen especially when you set yourself goals or KPIs for new backlinks. Don't do link building! Do marketing, do PR, do business development as normal, but with links in mind. Make sure that every person that communicates in the name of your company is thinking about links too. Public relations should think about links for example; all press releases should link to valuable, and relevant targeted pages.
There's more to it, like url structure, canonicals, targeted pages, diversity of content... But those are some very important points, and if you would have to summarise it: provide value.
Sorry for the long response, but i do hope it helps. If you have some more questions just reply to this comment or follow me @mailbites. You can always DM me.
In my experience, it was building high-quality backlinks for a product page.
We carefully investigated which links pushed our competitors on the top of the searches and we tried to emulate those links and then added on links that were relevant to the ones we found.
There are also other ways of course but this one helped us secure an additional 40k traffic to the page.
@rupal_saini Hello Rupal, Sure thing!
We used Ahrefs in our research but you could also use SEMrush for this.
1. We first gathered our list of direct competitors ranking in the top 10.
2. We then entered their page in Ahrefs "site explorer" and went to the referring domains tab and entered these filters.
A. DR >=45 we want to make sure that the links we're looking at has some degree of authority, anything lower would just be a waste of our time to acquire.
B. Sitewide traffic >500 we also wanted to make sure that the websites we found are actually legitimate. because there are some sites out there that have a decent DR but the traffic is 0, which means that these sites are used as link farms.
3. Once we have this pre-filtered list, all we had to do was manually look at each website and see if they're legitimate brands. Note: if you see a list of posts already in the homepage - RUN!
4. Once we cleaned up the list - all we had to do was find other posts that share a similar topic to expand our prospect count.
5. Then it's a matter of finding the relevant contact for each site and sending outreach emails.
Hope this helps!

What worked best for us was that we quickly wrote long articles on a very fresh topic and that positioned them well. But it's hard to say if it would work if we didn't have backlinks and good tech quality of the website.
So you always have to treat it as a mix of three factors: good content + backlinks + technical quality of the website.
Consistently writing good content. At least a couple of articles per week.
That's really it.
We let backlinks happen naturally for the most part and focus on content.
I say don't worry about the technical side so much and instead write good posts and stick to it.
As a rule of thumb, I like to say that you shouldn't expect to rank for much until you have at least 100 pages on your site. Aim for that first.
@rupal_saini yes, we look at what our ideal customers might be searching for and what phrases they use to search for it.
Then we write informative articles about the subject and add a mention of how our product can help the reader achieve their goals in relation to that.
