I'm used to working with a comfortable desk, monitor, and keyboard. And I often have to move from place to place. Therefore, you have to work in a coworking space.

@marvin_maendle Yes, I was a client of about 20 coworking spaces. Life hack: it’s better to choose one that has recently opened - there are fewer people there.
A good work-life balance and the flexibility to manage both personal and professional aspects more easily.
after working onsite for 14 years, can honestly say that working remotely has saved me a ton of time which I enjoy spending with family and taking care of my health.
I do however recommend for fresh grads to work onsite first, then move onto a hybrid structure
@hussein_hashish I once read the following sentence here on product hunt: Remote work infuses my days with micro-doses of humanity. - It describes perfectly how remote work improves the quality of life.
I also agree with hybrid model. Once a week for the team and 4 days to get the most out of it for the company & yourself!
I've been working remotely for the last 17 years, and it's changed my life in big ways.
It lets me arrange my day how I like, so I can work, spend time with my family, and relax better.
But, it's not always easy. You have to make an extra effort to talk and connect with your team since you're not seeing them face to face.
For me, the secret is to find a good balance and keep talking to people so you don't feel too alone.
It's really about making your work fit your life, not the other way around.
@venelinkochev I really like your last sentence! In the end it should be a flexible and result focused working environment with much freedom for the employees. Happy employees = productive employees
It had the biggest impact on my health. Now im able to walk more, workout more and do one thing that is crucial for health - eat healthy food; why? because i have way more time to prepare my food and even meal prep :)
@luka_brzin don't hear that often as an advantage, but it is definitely a huge one! I love to start the day with a 15 minutes walk, without checking the phone before.
I am doing a on-site work at the moment but I would love to do remote work because its saves so much time

I love the flexibility but also miss the day by day presencial talks. In deco.cx we know how to ponderate it and it is awsome

I started working remotely 9 weeks ago, already I find myself more productive, less distracted and my work life balance is much much better. Whilst working from my office I was always determined to take a 20-30 minute walk a couple times a day, did I? No! Something always came up. Working remotely, I've gotten into the habit of having a proper break a couple times per day.
@joshmead cool, that you directly notice these points. What was your motivation to change to remote work?
@marvin_maendle I ended up burnout during COVID times, our business went crazy at the time, one of the fortunate one. Unfortunately for me, my burnout made me turn to addictive substances to cope. In the end I ended up in a rehab facility over Dec 2023, as soon as I got out I realised I needed to dramatically change my life
Time management has become an art form, a delicate balance between being so productive that you forget to move for hours and taking so many "quick breaks" that you wonder if you've accidentally taken the day off. The boundaries between work and home life? As clear as a foggy day in San Francisco, leading to midnight emails because, hey, the laptop was just... there.
@natalie_trotsenko I agree! It takes some time and self discipline, but once you figured out the right structure for you, it is a game changer for me.
The pros: Be close to family, save time on commuting.
The cons: Miss out on bonding with colleagues (water cooler conversations). Imo actual team bonding happens when teams work in-person together. If you are aspiring to climb up the ladder (become CXO, etc.) - i think its important you be there at office.
@nmitra it's definitely a con. But there are more and more solutions for bonding with colleagues virtually and that is just the beginning. I'm super excited for the next years.
Personally I love remote work, but most of the time I go once a week in the office to meet my colleagues in person. Sometimes it's not possible, so I work abroad for 4-8 weeks and it works perfect for me.
@marvin_maendle its beyond team bonding - There are a lot of dynamics when a group of people work together in-person. Spontaneous conversations, ad-hoc discussions, shadowing mentors, the list goes on....
@stain I don't have any experiences with working across different time zones, but I can Imagine, that it's not easy! On the other hand you can choose from a global talent pool, what is a game changer in my opinion.
a clearly defined work time is really important to work together, totally agree!
I have a bad back now, but in general i became happier person, as i can manage my own time and on't need to ask permission if i want to take a day off etc etc. Also clerk chat https://clerk.chat/ helps me to get in touch with the customers more easy and quickly, which is great.
Different people and different roles are more suitable for remote work. For example, a coding team can be operated pretty well even when working hybrid. On the other hand, other roles such as product managers need to be in a "flourishing" environment, talking and exchanging ideas with others.
@ofir_kruvi thats true! But I think there will be new ways to sharing ideas and talking in a remote setting in the future. So excited of the changes in the next 5 years.
