Maybe not the main reason, but a big plus for sure! Micro interactions can really give life and character to a UI
Micro interactions are never the reason why one would use the app. It will come down to three 1. Does the app make me money 2. Does the app save me time ? 3. Does the app entertain me. Unless you address one of these three, Micro interactions alone will not win you many users.
