The three simple things almost every landing page fails at 🙈
1. Empathise with the user by discussing a solution for a problem they may have or something that affects them personally. Show them utopia 🤩! This will help them feel more engaged. "The hock"
2. Dive deeper into the details of the topic now that the user is engaged. Convince them that utopia is real. And that there is no hidden dealbreaker. "Drilling down into details"
3. It's time to go in for the sell. Make it a no-brainer for the user/customer to click download or buy. "The sell"

@stevels Thanks!!! I should definitely write a longer read on the topic, maybe I will have some time during xmas. To elaborate a bit further: I think most fancy landing pages can be arranged like this pretty easily. I guess many websites just gets lost in the process and stray. Add some "design by committee" 😅 on top and most landing pages becomes a beautiful mess that leaves users frustrated. If you structure it like this I think conversion will be higher. Right now it's distilled into this simple of 3 actionable ideas. Effectively communicating the core concept to the reader 😏 (We ruthlessly applied this when we designed our new website a few weeks ago: https://www.sentry.co/ Full disclosure: We strayed and overcomplicated many times but kept going back to these 3 rules)
