Hey makers! I'd love to hear about your preferences when it comes to focusing at work.
Just yesterday, as we worked in our office, I noticed Kemal, my best friend and business partner, deeply engrossed in his work. He had his headphones on and was clearly in a state of intense focus. Intrigued, I asked him what he was listening to, expecting it to be his usual playlist of lyric-heavy songs.
To my surprise, he told me he was listening to nature sounds from our very own product, Cheepy. Primarily, Cheepy offers Meditation, Sleep, and Relaxation sounds, but here was Kemal, using it as a productivity tool! The same sounds that often lull me into a relaxed state were helping him to concentrate on his work. In contrast, I find myself most focused when I'm listening to music with lyrics I've already memorized.
I'm now wondering which of these experiences is more common. What do you prefer to listen to while working? And why do you think our preferences differ so much? We're planning to expand Cheepy's sound collections based on user behavior and feedback. For example, we could develop a feature where users say, "I'm about to meditate, suggest a sound or mix for me." To help us with this, could you share what kind of work you're focusing on when you're using certain sounds? Your insights would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, if you want to experience the sounds we're discussing, you can download Cheepy using this link:
