Should Product Hunt adjust Product of the Day Badge timing?

Hello Product Hunt community! I have a quick suggestion that could significantly enhance the Maker experience on our platform. Picture this: You've worked hard to launch a product, and you're excited about your performance. However, it can be disappointing to be temporarily awarded the #1 Product of the Day badge, only to have it given to another product a few hours later. Here's the idea: I propose that we change the timing of when Product of the Day badges are displayed. By not showing them immediately at the end of the day, we can create a more exciting and fair competition. This change may lead to a better experience for all Makers, reducing disappointment and enhancing the overall Product Hunt journey. Hey Michele, that's an interesting suggestion! Adjusting the timing of the Product of the Day badge could indeed create a more fair and exciting competition for Makers. It's all about making the Product Hunt journey more enjoyable for everyone. Such a great idea!
Wow 😲 I'm sorry to hear that, @michelepomposo ! I thought you once you're awarded you can't lose the title. And I saw the #1 on yours... Damn... That must've have hurt 😔
@vlad_burca yeah, it stings a bit, but hey, there's a silver lining! 🥲 We're seeing some fantastic results - our website is booming with 4x more new visitors, and our sign-up numbers are on a satisfying upward trend 📈💪

Sounds like a great suggestion! (I understand it as just pushing back the ranking notification a few hours) I like the idea of making the criteria/ranking more murky in general to prevent gaming the system. The link in the bottom of the post comes off as promotion btw, so I almost didn't see this as a suggestion. (No offence, just had to read 2x, and imo.)
@esus yes, exactly. Don't show the ranking inmediately at the end of the day, so that PH team has all the time to do their final checks. It would be great to have the final ranking directly when the daily newsletter is sent! What would be for you the best way to share the day ranking?
@vedranrasic after midnight, I was thrilled to see the #1 Product of the Day badge on my launch page for around 3 hours. It later shifted to the #2 spot...
