Self-hosted custom analytics solution?

I would like to visualize some custom KPIs based on database activity for one of my projects. Ideally open source, self-hosted and using sql queries to pull from my database. Trying to avoid hand-rolling an admin site. What would you recommend? Grafana?

I've used Grafana for this and it works great. Also check out Metabase, it's an open source BI tool that lets you build dashboards and pull data directly from SQL queries. Super intuitive and easy to self-host.
