To make extra money: Working between Christmas and New Year's can be a way to earn extra money or to pay off holiday expenses. Many people who work in retail or hospitality are paid time and a half or double time for working on holidays, which can significantly increase their earnings.
To meet deadlines: Some businesses have deadlines that they must meet before the new year, such as taxes or year-end financial reports. This can require employees to work overtime or on weekends to get the work done.
I definitely take a break during the main holidays but I like getting a little work in! My birthday is soon after Christmas so I can be very progress-oriented during the time lol
That's a tricky question! π Whether it's weekends or holidays, I usually try not to work in order to start next week even stronger. That being said, it's not that easy for me. Sometimes completely unrelated topics such as a random video I saw or a completely unrelated conversation with friends start to move the cogs in my head. But I also don't try to interrupt that, so I guess for me it's more of a mix between "I like taking time off" and "I really enjoy what I'm doing"? π
