I cannot listen to any music with lyrics, or to which I know know the lyrics, because I cannot resist singing or harmonizing (even with headphones) “Instrumental only” music can speed up work pace or make workers move faster if they are on their feet/work standing up.

It depends.
For me, listening to music with English vocals distracts me when I'm trying to write, program, or read. But, if I listen to ambient music, classical music, or some simple jazz then it doesn't really bother me. Hence, I'm much more productive.
Yeah, it gives an initial momentum, but eventually, I have to turn it off to stay focused.
