Hi all:
My start up has a dating-product we're looking to submit to Product Hunt that is more based around the old Craigslist Personals model of Posting Ads and letting users freely browse rather than algorithmic matching/presenting users content to "like", etc.
My question is 2 fold:
1) is presenting a dating product as a "solution" / "utility" for those looking to meet up in the real world over an entertainment product for those "looking for love" a good pitch, or could it potentially come off as seedy/unsavoury given the community may see it as promoting promiscuity/cheating/etc?
2) since our running costs are very low because we only really enable users to browse, post and reply to ads, would it be good to highlight that we offer a "no bells and whistles" approach to putting yourself out there to investors, or is the current investment community too in love with "high engagement through gamification" for our message to get through?
Any and all feedback is more than welcomed.
Eric.
PS: not sure if it's a good idea to link to our site or app store listings just yet in the forum. Should I link here or is that only appropriate on a product page?
