How do you go about hiring people globally with interest in marketing of digital products? Any sites or references?

Yes, you can hire from Upwork, LinkedIn.

If you are very clear with your strategy and tactics and just want someone to execute, hiring an intern is a good option when you don't have enough capacity to implement everything you have in your mind. But if you just want a magical intern to fix your marketing problems without clear guidance and detailed expectations... that's a different story.

Hire students. They are eager and mobile.

@neelptl2602 check out Virtual Internships (zero cost for companies as interns are funded by universities)

If someones company is based in Europe it might be a good idea to look at erasmus interns sites

Yes, I hired different marketing interns and they made very good jobs.

@jakeharr how did you source them?

I have tried onlinejobs.ph - its hit and miss. Only good when you have your processes in place and they just follow a checklist...

Yes, it was a terrible experience. I would strongly advise against hiring inexperienced marketing employees. It might work for developers, designers, and managers, but it's not a good idea for sales or marketing managers.
