In my experience, you want to demonstrate that you can thoughtfully build products. Fortunately these days with the variety of no-code platforms and accessible design tools, you don't need a technical background to be able to do this.
Come up with an idea, or even an idea for an improvement to an existing product. Create a design in Figma, create a simple site in CARRD, connect things to Zapier, do some user testing on UsabilityHub, and before you know it you're demonstrating that you can bring a thoughtful product to life.
@owens Thanks for sharing. I am looking to transition into product management as well. I have completed a PMC certification, created an idea, written the PRD, done surveys as well to find product market fit but I find Figma complex to use. Any tips for me please?
@fisayomi_oni You've made great headway! Figma can definitely be tough to learn at first. All of use find different tools easier to use. Have you tried using a mockups tool, such as moqups.com?
