Does Chat GPT write creatively?
Seamlessly, give you the edge, unleash, revolutionize, game-changer, .... These are a few examples of words and phrases that I have repeatedly seen in contents generated by Chat GPT! It also uses certain structures more often than others. Don't you think it's not as creative as some claim it is? Seems like it is highly biased when it comes to using chunks of language.

Yes it does. All you need to do is draft a prompt in such a way you make gpt writes creatively. Its all about the prompt that we enter👍🏻

@kate_chasten It us just the same… as you tell the GPT what to do.. also tell what it shouldn’t do. In that way you can avoid such repetition of words and certain structured out put. I would still say it can be more creative if we prompt it correctly.
Depends on the definition of creativity.
If it's inventing something out of nothing then no. Language models always have to have some source of information to "copy" or to create new truths out of it.
If it's creating new stories from existing inspiration then yes. Chat GPT stitches hundreds of thousands of articles into a new one, which IMO is kind of creative.
I think it's more creative than accurate :D
@ziga_kerec Well, it does stitch thousands of articles into a new one, but how can we make sure that the article it generates is the best possible article that could be written on a given subject. And I don't expect it to create something totally new (in terms of language use" but I thinks it's only fair to expect such a highly-admired tool to make a much better use of the sources it has access to. I'm sick of those " unleash and seamlessly" things that it uses in almost all articles. Anyone using it for a week can easily identify texts generated by it among a thousand human-generated content. Only good for inspiring, not so much of a writer whatsoever.

I wasn't necessarily referring to OpenAI's Chat GPT rather than GPT language models, which are surely going to be a big part of the ongoing tech in the next decade.
Given my limited experience with Chat GPT's writing capabilities, I trust you on the judgment of it being sloppy and corny. But I do think that a dedicated AI writing tool can be creative in its own niche.
@ziga_kerec Thanks for sharing your view. I'm not against AI too. I just don't like when a tool has certain drawbacks and a large crowd admire it more than it deserves.
i can't define the chat gpt work creative. its work is based on the attributes of existing works

I do not think so. It just makes synonyms possible! Even Google recently claimed that the content written by ChatGPT is unlikely to outrank there on the web as it does not provide any additional data and information. Just revamp what's available and Google every time demands something that is very new and useful for the user.
@excellentweb_australia Totally agree. But read somewhere, that Google is leaning toward Chat GPT generated content by changing its old motto " content written by people for people" to " content written for people". Is this true?

No, I don't think chatgpt write in a creative manner. Actually, the purpose was to develop ChatGPT to retrieve information from the Internet using prompts, not to generate content.

@serenity_liliana Thanks for sharing Your view Serenity, but This is what I've heard and read about countless times. But in essence, it's nothing more than an imitator who's relatively biased and not up-to-date.
GPT is, of course, an algorithm. But it can produce very creative content and even code if you get creative with prompting =)

Not only is it not creative, it somehow generates the most impersonal questions to trigger the most superficial types of online interaction. ChatGPT is a tool, not a system, and therefore, it most definitely requires that all-too-important human touch... At least for now.
@arya_rg Exactly. While it's a good assistance and we can use it for that purpose, many consider it to be perfect writer and let it do the job, not knowing that it hasn't been made for that purpose.

Well, it's hard to say as it's based on the already existing works, but hey, we have an example of Quentin Tarantino, a director, who was inspired by so many movies and makes so many references, yet no one can call his works plagiarism. ChatGPT is good as a starting base for you, like a piece of preshaped clay. You can follow and finish the shape the way you like or you can redo it all. It depends on you.

I think that even if the first attempt to generate the text isn't perfect, it's still possible to write uniquely beautiful text chatting with AI, guiding and refining the text.

I don't think he is very creative in his word choice when writing. He tends to fall into a certain pattern. However, his creativity comes through in the themes and ideas for his writing, like contributing prompts and writing ideas. So I usually don't let him write the final article. 😐
Consider asking ChatGPT to emulate a specific style. It performs well in this case. You can even submit your own writing as an example and request it to mimic your style.

@kate_chasten Agreed! I can recognize text generated with ChatGPT if the human operator did not tune the excitement down. It's probable that OpenAI sets the parameters by default to make it optimistic, polite, and excited about everything it writes. :)
