Best way to get the first 10-50 users to test your beta app

I'm preparing to release an app, and I'd like to use the first 50 users to test the product to understand if changes need to be made. The app is community-based and is in the professional networking space, so it only really works if there are others on there. I would rather not pay people to test it, but can if needed.

Join a niche community in the professional networking space, engage and eventually pitch to someone in there. Or if you have some existing contacts with a small business (maybe even locally), they might be happy to jump in for free for an offer.
