I think it's more about instant user feedback more than revenue or brand awareness (at least it is for us!) - it's a quick snapshot of where you are in product/market fit. We are trying to see how Varcity fits into a larger population of people not necessarily all in the investing/trading space, to gauge interest outside of the core target.
@matt_horowitz but that is the one of the points. If you want to create a good community you need to create even stupid discussions or so but it doesn’t meet you are not genuine at all
I think its a mixture as well - Most people will eventually have products to launch / features to ship etc. I also find that people are pretty genuine and that being a hunter or a maker allows people to take off their company face and actually be their own unfiltered selves.
