AI in the Tech Community: Thoughts and Opinions wanted!

Hey techies! I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the role of AI in the tech community. As AI continues to advance and become more integrated into our daily lives, I'm wondering how you see it shaping the future of tech. Do you think AI will eventually replace certain jobs and roles within the tech industry, or do you see it as a helpful tool to augment and improve human capabilities? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the matter! 🤔

The choices you have mentioned are not mutually exclusive - I expect AI to replace certain jobs completely. E.g. Say Google has built a massive data center somewhere. I'm sure some day AI can fully automate the build-out and operation of the data center with no human involvement. On the other hand, I'm not entirely sure AI, short of AGI, will be able to independently observe human needs in society and independently conceive new software & hardware products, then take them to market.

You're right that the choices I mentioned are not mutually exclusive, and I agree that AI has the potential to completely replace certain jobs, like the example you gave of automating the build-out and operation of a data center. However, I also see the value in human observation and creativity when it comes to conceiving and bringing new products to market. It's hard to say exactly what the future holds, but I think it's important to consider both the potential for AI to replace certain jobs and the ways in which it can enhance human capabilities.

I see it enhancing jobs more than replacing them. And the ones it does replace, there'll be many more to take its place
