The idea came from the need to make Shopify stores become compliant with data protection regulations such as GDPR because there was no such tool or app that could cover all aspects of these laws for Shopify specifically. So GDPR Compliance Center was created to cover this gap. So if a Shopify store business is located in the EU/EEA, Canada (PIPEDA), Brazil (LGPD), or in California or it has customers from there, then it needs GDPR Compliance Center app to ensure that is in compliance with the different laws and avoid any fines.
