The idea for Gallery Doctor actually came about when we did a little digging with MyRoll and realized that most users have on average 2GB worth of bad or similar photos on their device. Nobody likes excess baggage these days, especially if it makes it harder to find our awesome pictures.
That’s why we created Gallery Doctor - it allows you to instantly identify your bad & similar photos that are clogging up storage on your iPhone or iCloud. No more endless scrolling through your camera roll in search of the good stuff.

I've actually been looking for something like this for a while (with no luck). Does it also identify duplicate photos? I had a problem with iCloud that has duplicated so many of my photos 2/3 times so would be great if this could help with that
@imscott Yes! Gallery Doctor instantly identifies all of your similar photos (near-duplicates) and even points out the best picture from each group so you don't have to think *too* hard about which one to keep :)

Looking good! I have some phobia of deleting photos, so I end up filling my 16GB iPhone pretty quickly (it's not that hard). You guys freed substantial amount of similarly dark and blurry photos I could live without. Thanks :)
@punttim Hey Tim! Gallery Doctor works seamlessly with iCloud Backup. Our next step is to add integration with cloud 'folders' such as Google Photos and Dropbox. Awesome question - thanks!
Just bought this...cleaned up a bunch of junk within a few minutes. I love the big checkmark and the sense of satisfaction when you go through each category and complete a cleanup. Nice!
I'd love to see something like Gallery Doctor for old Twitter posts. I know there are services that do a version of that, but they're ugly and not fun. This would be more of a niche product - not everyone uses Twitter (or rather has used it for years and wants to delete old posts) - compared to Gallery Doctor, which everyone with a full camera roll can buy into.

Gallery Doctor for Twitter - I like the sound of that! I've heard of Twindr but I've never actually tried it. I was actually digging around for something this morning that does that for Twitter followers but couldn't really find anything.

@omri_aloni @ghobs91 I have to ask, is there any chance we'll see a Windows Phone version of this? I would absolutely love to use it (I have so, so many crappy pictures filling up my phone), but am fairly invested in the MS ecosystem :\

@matthew_sot @ghobs91 Hey Matthew - while I know our Head of UX (shoutout @etgalim) would absolutely love to see one, a Windows Phone version will probably take a bit. We still need need to chew up some of the usage/data on Android & iOS before we move on.
Great idea and definitely useful since there's no cost to taking an extra photo or 3! I found myself wanting to expand the thumbnails to see the whole photo because the thumbnails are square and small, to make the call on whether I really want to delete or not, especially when the images look similar. But, instead, it's toggling whether I want to keep or not, so I end up not doing anything. Also, would be nice to have a Select All toggle on the "Bad Photos" because I want to pick and choose what's really bad vs. a screenshot or photo of a whiteboard which I found a lot of in that category. All in all, great start!
@tonychen Hey Tony - You can 'long-press' on a thumbnail to enlarge it. We *should* have done a better job communicating this, but we're working on a hint that'll take care of that.
Regarding a 'select all' option - I totally agree. We implemented one in our Android version but didn't have enough time to get to it this time around. We'll be adding that feature very soon!
As an iOS developer i use my phone to take test pictures all the time, I end up having a lot of spammy pics that i forget to delete, mixing up with my regular ones. This app is just for me, great job guys!
This is pretty awesome. Cleaning my camera roll is always a dreadful experience.
Easily worth the $3 - cleared up ~ .6GB without losing anything I wanted to keep. Awesome.
Love it-- saved about 500 MB on my phone. Only quibble is that the "bad" photo filter is a little too unforgiving.

I was studying abroad in the spring during which I took over 10,000 photos. I've been planning to go back and select the best ones to post online but I've been too scared to get started because of the volume. I'll finally give it a go this weekend with Gallery Doctor.
