Nice focussed writing app. Thanks for sharing it and making it available for free.
Small question: where is the music coming from? Is there a way for me to find out the name of the track I'm listening to?

@robingood Glad you liked it sir! So you can't see the name/source of the music (again, 'distraction-free'). But all I can say is it's from various kinds of music producers and is obtained using varied licenses. Lemme know if you have any other questions! Would appreciate I you could help spread the word! ๐๐
@mansidak Thanks for the reply. I think you can keep it 100% distraction free but offer a minimalistic dot that once you hover will tell you the track name. Also it is not ideal that, even on the about page there is no credit / attribution to the music sources.
P.S.: I'd be happy to write a review and spread the word, if there was more transparency about the music sources and licensing in place.
@robingood Hi Robin! So there's an attribution page dedicated to our content providers in the FAQ section. The license being used is either CC (w attribution) or the CC-NC-SA license. Hope that helps! And as far as the tracks being shown is concerned, I will definitely look into it as soon as possible and try a BETA version with that features if possible. P.S.: I checked the FAQ page (frostwriter.com/faqs) and that part is quite well hidden under the Attribution section which is itself on another page (frostwriter.com/attribution). I'd make it a bit more visible and explicit as I had a hard time finding it even with your directions.
@mansidak The music track feature is of little importance. The important thing is that users can find out, if they want, who the music belongs to.

Congratulations @mansidak and Frost is very beautiful. Looks very good. Just one question: is a native desktop app in the plans? I currently write on FocusWriter on my desktop, but Frost really looks like it can take the spot, only if it had a desktop app. :)

I like the app but won't consider using it without a mute button and a markdown editor

This product is one of a kind. Its interactive setup to the little details makes it stand out. Since its inception in 2019, Frost has been delivering its users a seamless writing experience, promising minimalism ethics, and a completely distraction-free environment. This time, weโre taking everything to the next level. Literally.
I wanted to make a completely distraction-free environment for creative artists like writers and poets who wish to get their first draft going. It's not a secret that most of us prefer listening to music while writing and that was the inspiration behind Frost.
In version 3.0, I'm introducing all the features that the users asked for - auto-save, ability to skip music, a word counter, some new themes and the first dynamic theme that lets you write in a cozy atmosphere with natural ambient sounds like fireplace, clouds rumbling, people chatting, a clock ticking, etc. I believe, all writers enjoy a nice cozy environment to write, so I tried my best to make one.
The new themes- Cosmos, and Vintage, include a beautiful collection of classical and orchestral music including instruments like piano, violin, organ, etc.
It's been a very challenging process building this web app singlehandedly, but at the same time, it's the most rewarding thing I've worked on. I hope you enjoy Frost and I would truly appreciate if you could give it a follow on Instagram (@frost.app).
