The idea behind Forma was that I was trying to solve the pain points I was having when I was running my previous startup (25~30 employees). Back then, every functional team or department subscribed to different softwares and tools to manage their respective business processes. However, 1. Expensive - Most of these softwares charges on a per user basic and as company expands in size, it can get really expensive (On average, companies subscribed to more than 7 different) 2. Cumbersome - It is very troublesome to manage multiple platforms especially when onboarding new employees 3. Rigid - The softwares are typically very isolated in their own specific vertical, and require third party integrations to connect the data or workflow together 4. Bloated - Most of the time we are only using 20% of the features that we are paying for 5. Manual - A lot of team members in a company (More than 80% of such companies), are still using some form of google sheets/forms or Microsoft Excel to manage their business process manually. Why? They are reluctant to reach out to the top management to explore new softwares (paid) Essentially, the infrastructure behind all these softwares and tools are very similar. They are like lego blocks but in different colours and skins. Each lego blocks = features of the tools. By breaking these lego blocks into pieces, and making them modular, plug and play. User can easily drag and drop and build whatever they need with ease. Forma aims to empower non-technical individuals regardless of their role/function to be able to build dynamic and customised workflows for any of their business process We are in early stages of our platform, and are currently in private beta launch (Nov 2020).
