Hey Product Hunt, it’s been a while! We weren’t avoiding you (I swear!) - we’ve just been cooking up something special 🍳 I’m so, so excited to share Fluent 2.0 with you - the world’s first language tutor and conversation coach in your browser. If you want to speak a new language, there aren’t many great options. Tutors are expensive, approaching strangers is inconvenient (if you can even find a native speaker), and apps don’t really teach spoken language. I’ll bet you’ve spent hours on language apps, getting no closer to actual conversations - and let’s be honest, it’s hard to stick around on these apps for more than a few weeks anyways. Which is why we decided to ✨turn your browser itself✨ into the language tutor! Rather than paying hundreds per week for someone to hold you accountable & perfect your speech, Fluent turns anything you read online into a language lesson and pronunciation drill. If you’re terminally online like me, those hours add up quick - and you’ll get more practice speaking your language than you thought possible! So, what’s new in Fluent 2.0? 🗣️ AI-powered pronunciation lessons 🖊️ Reading, writing, & listening lessons 🏃🏽‍♂️ Start a focused practice session right from any webpage 🏆 Streaks & leaderboards And that’s just the beginning - we’re racing to add more conversation focused features, so Fluent becomes a true browser-based language tutor. In the coming weeks we’ll be adding: 〰️ Sentence-level conversation practice 🤖 Live conversation practice about the contents of any webpage 🧑🏽‍🏫 Grammatical corrections in live conversation So click the link above or visit to try Fluent for free for 7 days! Catch you at the next launch 🙂 P.S. Thanks for the hunt @hnshah ! You’re the best ❤️
Antoni Kozelski
@hnshah @gavin_dove1 Thanks to Fluent 2.0, it's finally possible to hone your pronunciation without the routine. Looking forward to more conversation-focused features.💪
Gavin Dove
@hnshah @antonikozelski Thanks Antoni! Our dream is to help anyone speak a new language faster - no matter how disciplined (or lazy!) they are :) Can't wait to share our sentence-level pronunciation and live conversation features here in the coming weeks!

@madalina_barbu Thank you Madaline! Not everyone has access to fellow language learners or tutors they can easily practice conversation with. Hopefully Fluent helps people practice speaking new languages even on their own!
SOURABH UPRETI
Looks like Duolingo has some competition now. What's the pricing? Congratulations on the launch btw @gavin_dove1
Ara Ghougassian
@gavin_dove1 @sourabh_upreti Hey man! It's $8/month, $50/year
Kristofer Lachance
I love what you guys have built! I find it hard to carve out the time to do serious learning, so Duolingo isn't a fit for me. Smart to make this part of the daily flow. Curious, what languages are next on the roadmap?
Gavin Dove
@kris_lachance Thanks so much for the support and the question Kristopher ❤️ Next languages on the roadmap are Japanese and English (for people who speak languages other than Spanish). We also have a "Vote on languages" page here! So if anyone wants a languages that we don't cover, they can drop it here: https://feedback.fluent.co/langu...

It's so exciting to see Fluent 2.0 live! As a long time user, I'm happy to see you guys keep pushing and making the product better. Congrats on the launch!
Gavin Dove
@jordanlwalkerrr Thanks Jordan! Your support means the world - people like you are why we get out of bed everyday to keep building :)

Reading & speaking in natural contexts is a huge part of learning a language that a lot of e-learning solutions miss — I love the promise of Fluent! Is it gonna be easy to use for a non-native English speaker to learn English?
Gavin Dove
@jsph Hey Joe - that's our goal! Most language learners in the world are learning English from other languages, so we want to support them as quickly as possible. Currently we only support learning English for Spanish learners - but hope to support English-learners who come from other major languages soon too! We also realize that pronunciation is a huge difficulty for many non-native English speakers, which is why we've rebuilt the product around conversation practice :)
Congrats on launch! Any roadmap on supporting more languages? I'd argue that these 6 are covered in complete saturation - no one is struggling finding resources to learn German or Spanish, right? I'd be much more interested in learning smaller languages or even something weirder like esperanto and that's exactly where AI integration would shine. Feels a bit like a missed opportunity imo.
Gavin Dove
@reb_sadran Thanks for the comment Reb! Totally agree - these are the most popular languages, which is why we started with them! I'd love to cover smaller languages as soon as possible (our co-founding team's first languages include languages like Hebrew, Cantonese, Catalan and Armenian), and I think AI will play a big role in enabling that. Before LLMs and the techniques to train them appeared, that looked like it would be many years (and a much larger team) away. I can't give an exact date, but now I think the timeline has shrunk significantly. Right now our first priority is reaching a clear product/market fit. As soon as we've hit that and our product is stable, we're going to expand our set of languages as quickly as we can! In the meantime, we've put together this voting page to get a sense of what languages people want on Fluent. If you drop the languages you want there, you'll be notified when they're live! https://feedback.fluent.co/langu...
This looks so cool! Pretty neat website and the video makes the product usage super clear. I'll definitely add this to my list of tools to try. Great work, team. Congratulations on launching 2.0!
Gavin Dove
@shreelekha Appreciate you Shreelekha! We've been hard at work on Fluent 2.0 for a while now, so you have no idea how much those words mean to us :)
Brad Mitchler
Nice one. I heard on a podcast last week for adults to really learn a language they need to spend some 20-30% of their day practicing it. It's almost impossible without living around it, but perhaps this tool can work language learning in to normal day to day life. Good luck!
Gavin Dove
@brad_mitchler It's crazy how much practice you need to learn a language right? Depending on what you're learning, it can take anywhere from 600 to 2000 focused hours of practice! My co-founders and I realized the problem wasn't better tests, but rather making it easy for people to practice regularly! So hopefully, Fluent can get a few more folks a little closer to that 600 hour point, more people can enjoy the world in their desired language :)
Vlad Zivkovic
This is great, I will give it a try! Congratulations on your launch! 🚀🚀🚀
Gavin Dove
@vladimir_zivkovic Thanks Vlad, hope it's helpful! If you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to message me personally :)
Sandra Djajic
Hi there, big congratulations on your launch! Hoping for Finnish to be added soon - looks like a really interesting tool to learn a language. Wishing you the best of luck!
Gavin Dove
@sandradjajic Hey Sandra! Thank you so much for the support! Finland represent! Would love to add Finnish soon - in the meantime, we have a page to vote on the next supported language - if you drop a vote here you'll be notified once Finnish goes live :) https://feedback.fluent.co/langu...
Vithu Namasivayam
Absolutely incredible to see the strides this product has made over the years. Absolute must for us life-long language learners!
Gavin Dove
@vithunamas Thanks so much for the support and kind words Vithu ❤️ We're just hoping to make things a little easy for life-long learners :)
Asjad khan
A great initiative. A perfect tool for those who look forward to being multilingual. I hope that the Korean Language will be added soon too. I look forward to moving from 'DeepL' and switching to Fluent2.0. Good luck with the product!
Gavin Dove
@asjad_khan5 Appreciate you Asjad! DeepL is an amazing tool, so being mentioned in the same sentence as them is humbling :) We hope to launch Korean soon! There's a lot of demand for it. In the meantime if you leave a vote for Korean here (https://feedback.fluent.co/langu...) you'll be notified when it goes live!
Alex Caza
Let’s go team Fluent! 🎉 Loving the rapid iteration of this product. Keeps getting better in big ways every few months 😃
Gavin Dove
@alexcaza Appreciate you Alex ❤️ Hearing feedback like this is a big reason for us getting out of bed each morning. Hoping to keep up the rapid iteration trend with sentence level pronunciation and conversation practice features coming soon!!!
Olga Sanchís
@alexcaza thank you!! 🫶🏼 can't wait to hear your feedback ☺️
Jorge Casals
Good luck with your project!
Gavin Dove
@jorge_casals Thank you Jorge :)
Bryan McAnulty
I like the idea of being able to learn something new while reading something you are interested in.
Gavin Dove
@bryanmcanulty Same! My cofounders and I got tired of learning "The apple is angry" and other nonsensical sentences on all the usual language apps 😂
Ethan Keshishian
Super exciting! This is a great update. Congrats on the launch, team!
Gavin Dove
@ethankeshishian Thanks Ethan, this comment means a lot to me and the team :)
Vahan Melkonyan
This seems way too cheap!!! You guys plan on adding an enterprise tier?
Gavin Dove
@vahan_melkonyan Thanks for the feedback Vahan! We've kept it relatively cheap so it can be accessible to more learners. Planning to sell group licenses to schools and companies this summer! What added functionality for Fluent do you think would be worthy of an enterprise tier?
André J
Nice! Look out duo lingo!
Gavin Dove
@sentry_co Duolingo won't even know what hit them! 😈
Cyril Gupta

Gavin Dove
@cyriljeet Thanks Cyril! Really appreciate you checking it out. Shoot me a message if you have any suggestions, comments, ideas, or anything in between :)
