Let's be honest, who creates the best product? Of course, not one founder, but a team. And not just a team but a well-coordinated team of professionals who believe in their product.
🚀 When we launch our startup, we think about sales, development, and investors, but we rarely think about team development. The main thing is to hire someone to do the job. We often forget that only outstanding teams create the outstanding product. And often, a bad idea in the hands of a great team is reborn into something wholly new and achieves incredible success. So why do founders pay so little attention to team development?
📖 Let me tell you one story. I founded my first company at the age of 18. And, of course, I didn’t think about HR at all then. The company grew, and new people appeared, but we did not deal with HR issues in any way. One evening, I read a book by Jim Collins, "From Good to Great," and remembered the phrase: "First Who, Then What." After that, I started looking for solutions for hiring employees and team development. It was difficult for me to find a solution that was perfect for me, so I tried everything. And this has already given results:
✔️ We reduced our time spent on hiring yet improved the quality of new hires. Almost everyone now completes the probationary period successfully.
✔️ We began to spend much less time on internal communication in the team on various issues since all documents, reports, and applications could now be received by employees online.
✔️ We started noticing the most active, talented, and promising employees. The results and achievements of employees could be compared visually.
✔️ The company's security and data protection has been greatly improved. Now, everything was stored and managed in one place.
❌ There was only one problem: We had to use many solutions and pay separately for each one. Most of them did not have integration between themselves, or the integration worked extremely poorly. I had to check the data and transfer it manually constantly. And universal solutions were incredibly expensive, as they were more focused on large and medium-sized businesses. Therefore, I started thinking about developing our own internal HR system, which would significantly increase the efficiency of our team.
🌎 But it so happened that I had to leave my country and start a new project from scratch. Then, I decided to implement my idea for everyone, not for internal use. This idea led to the creation an affordable and efficient universal HR platform.
🔥 With your feedback and our desire, I hope we will help entrepreneurs unite and build superhero teams that create innovative products to transform the world. 🦄 Because only the best teams win, not ordinary.
Thank you, and happy hunting!
Nick from 🔶 FirstHR.
@nickanisimov Wow, Nick, your passion for building superhero teams and transforming the world through innovative products is truly inspiring! It's refreshing to see a founder who recognizes the importance of HR in the success of a company. Your dedication to streamlining HR processes and making them accessible to all entrepreneurs is commendable.
I can't wait to see how FirstHR helps businesses create outstanding teams and achieve extraordinary results. Here's to the future of teamwork and innovation! 🚀🌟
@nickanisimov Hi, Nick. FirstHR is a totally new all-in-one HR solution, bringing together every HR process from hiring to letting go in one user-friendly interface. Congrats! 🎉
Congratulations on the launch @nickanisimov . It is mentioned that it's forever free for small teams. Great thing. But 1 question? Does small teams with free plans get all the features?
@10xmarketer We are currently looking for integration partners and trying to add our own solutions. We will definitely integrate very popular solutions among startups.
First thing I notice while diving into a product is whether the user experience is good. Your app can be navigated easily so I am really looking forward to learning more.
Very rare to find well-built-out products launching here (with generous free tiers as well). Just curious, do you have any third-party integrations planned for future releases? Either way, bookmarking this for when I start to build out my team.
@nickanisimov Nick, congrats on the launch to you and your team! You've done an amazing work preparing for this day! The tool looks super useful for any team in the industry!
I like what I see. Congratulations on the launch, @nickanisimov. You take care of most of the stuff. As a startup, our processes are also around compliance and policy management, such as workplace relationships, attendance management and Reimbursement. I would strongly refer you to these names for inspiration: Ripling, Darwin Box, Keka HR and Lattice.
Congrats on the launch! Having spent much of my career in recruitment oftentimes I find HR solutions to be the forgotten stepbrother of the industry. Companies need them but nobody tends to prioritize their development so this seems like an amazing shift.
A few questions at the onset that might help people in the thread get a little more insight that come to mind
- How does this compare to a product like BambooHR (What does your team do better?)
- What does the Indeed integration look like?
- From the recruitment perspective - How are applicants dealt with that apply over and over to different jobs? With Bamboo you had to sift through them one by one - I wonder if there is way to flag them as "not a fit" for the organization (Just a specific question of a problem that really annoyed me about other HRIS software)
Excited to see what the team does next and I already love the roadmap strategy!
This looks like a very ambitious project. A mix of OfficeVibe with Humanity, knowledge base and a couple of others. If you succeed, it will be awesome, but do you have a team and resources to handle such an enormous task?
I have some experience using Personio, would you say they are a competitor?
Also, what kind of country specific requirement do you (plan to) support? Thinking about things in regard to being an employer and paying taxes that must be reported monthly to the appropritate government agency.
@stpe Thanks for your question! Yes, they can be called competitors, but we work in different markets, at least I think so. Our platform is primarily adapted to US laws; in the future, we plan to adapt it for the European Union.
@nickanisimov congrats on the launch! I admire you put a lot of work into it, and it looks comprehensive.
I and my team have built multiple HRIS/Payroll systems for multiple clients. One of these clients became a unicorn. Then I was a co-founder/CPO of one tech-enabled EoR, we've raised $800k and as a CPO I've built a platform to onboard people in 6 Arabic countries, with expenses, leaves, documents, payroll, etc automated.
Tbh, what I saw in your demo is a copy of all HR features under a single roof. From my experience, what it means is it looks cool on the demo, but the features are rigid and won't cover 99% of all possible use cases that different teams might have.
Not to mention the competition from dozens of well-funded HRIS systems, each targeting a different region and niche.
So, my question is very simple: what's your positioning? what problem do you solve, which countries/regions you cover, who's your target audience? and most importantly, what's your client acquisition strategy?
Honestly, would love to hear the answer to these questions. Happy to chat.
@alex_chepovoi Thank you for your feedback, and I apologize for the long response!
I previously managed several companies, and we had a lot of trouble with other HR systems. We constantly needed to connect integrations that still constantly stopped working. When we wanted to implement a full-fledged system, where everything was in one solution, we were shocked by the bills only for consulting.
FirstHR combine all team management solutions in one platform with a simple and intuitive interface. You no longer need to set up integrations between different solutions and pay for 10 different solutions at once.
We'll see what comes of this.
This would help a lot of HR recruiters and talent managers hire and manage talent and the team from one place!
Streamlining everything under 1 app- that's good!
There are many HR tools out there but firstHR manages to combine lots of features into one package very well and all with an affordable price tag. Congrats on the launch!🔥🔥
Sleek UI/UX and comprehensive features. Supported. One question: how does the APPS feature work? Can I loink any external app and then it will be accessible via iframe on the dashboard or what? How do you secure sensitive info like the app user and password requested for APPS?
@fabiosalvadori Thank you, Fabio! For now, we only support integrations from our partners, but in the future we will open our API for external integrations.
The first thing I noticed when I was on your site was the pricing. Not only is it free for small teams (excellent for solopreneurs like myself) but it's free forever with all the features! How is that possible!? This is amazing guys. Congratulations on the launch!
First of all, Happy Birthday Nick! 🎂 🎉 🎈 🎁 (I saw it in LinkedIn)
Then, congrats on the launch!
I think that these SaaS decisions are very actual for every company more than 5 employees. I faced this challenge when I was a CEO of a big team (more than 20). I didn't remember birthdays, so we didn't congratulate in time. Also, I didn't have the list of employees, with their additional contacts phone numbers. And one time it was a situation when 1 employee wasn't in touch during 4-5 hours (working day) and I even didn't know, whom to write, call (we all worked remotely)
Also when we hired HR, she didn't know where to sum all the results from 1-1 calls with the employees.
Then we started work with HR system. It didn't suit very good, but it was better than to be without.
It didn't have an opportunity to add custom fields, but I wanted to add "Foreign language level"
So my wishes to you (if you don't have):
- make birthday reminders
- make custom fields
- make summary for HR 1-1, 360 and etc
I believe you will achieve the success. That's the way!
In spite of HR being so important, most of the founders especially from SME struggle with HR related nuances. Firsthr looks like an impressive first step towards helping them with all solutions and services related to HR. Best wishes to the team.
